. and for the F uture . . . the Ursuline girl looks toward the plans that will continue the heritage and broaden the scope of Ursuline influence. To facilitate this work of education the Ursulines began a building program in May, 1953. Plans have been made to com- plete the present campus on Collingwood Boulevard and also to construct a new academy building on Kenwood Boulevard. The success of the Ursulines in Toledo for the past one hundred years has been proved by the unselflsh co-operation of the citizens in this project. 4

Our Bishop During the four years of his residence in our diocese, Bishop Rehring has be- come a familiar and loved figure in our lives. We of St. Ursula Academy especially have benefited from his re- assuring presence at our religious cere- monies as well as his inspiring sermons. Toledoans have come to recognize his gentle manner and the frequeiit walks which typify his daily routine. Even small children feel at ease with him and look forward to meeting this friendly apostle of Christ. The Bishop was ordained in 1914, served a professorship at lX'Iount St. lwary Seminary in Cincinnati, and came to Toledo in 1950 to become our fourth Bishop. Outstanding among Bishop Rehring's ecclesiastical efforts is the support which he has so generously given to the current Ursuline Development Program. His enthusiastic promotion of this drive will long be remembered in the hearts of the students and faculty. How fortunate we are to have such a zealous leader to guide the people through these uncertain times! Most Reverend George J. Rehrlng Bishop of Toledo Um' hoploin Reverend Francis P. MeCartin, O.M.I. This year we again welcome Father Francis P. lXlcCartin as our chaplain. After six years of ab- sence he has returned to St. Ursula Academy com- plete With that famous Eastern accent. Father has presided over the various spiritual ceremonies as well as attended social activities. The juniors and seniors are well prepared to face life in the adult World as the result of his extensive teaching. Father McCartin has the gift of making his classes interesting, and at the same time of leaving valuable impressions on students, minds. For personifying all that Christ teaches, Father deserves the everlasting gratitude of this student body. 5
