Dedication.. to the Ursuline Nuns In honor of their one hundred years in Toledo, Ohio, We, the Senior Class, dedicate the 1954 SCROLL to the Ursuline Nuns of the Convent of the Sacred Heart. For their consistent effort to educate young girls for Christian Womanhood, We Wish to express our sincere appreciation. In the course of their teaching years in our city the nuns have succeeded in living the nine counsels of Saint Angela Merici, foundress of the Order of Saint Ursula: Humble yourself, and you will be exalted. Use discretion and kindness in the treatment of your Daughters. Be submissive and obedient to your Superiors. Be sensitive to the spiritual and temporal needs of your Daughters and never despair of God's constancy. Guide and inspire your Daughters and Sistersg counsel them to seek the things that are above. Set blameless examples that they may model themselves after you. Shield your flock from the bad influence of worldly people and heretics. Take all your Daughters to your heart and bear with them all equally. ' Live in harmony united all with one heart and one will. May the strength and true comfort of the Holy Spirit be in you all, so that you may be able to uphold and to carry on manfully and faith- fully the enterprise which you have undertaken and that you may look forward to the great reward which God has prepared for you.

Sister M. Lelia Directress The Faculty The formation of a complete Christian personality is the objec- tive of education by Saint Ursula's faculty. Such important points as Christian piety and becoming man- ners are Well emphasized in this pro- gram. Because of their own educa- tions, the faculty are well prepared to fulfill their purpose, and in the persons of the instructors many colleges and universities are repre- sented. Saint Ursula Academy strives to mold the Christian personality in every Way. A liberal academic cur- riculum is offered, thus contributing both practical and cultural features in at basic education.
