REGIS I4-ST. J The Regis Raiders won the right to represent the Denver Parochial League in the state parochial tournament by beating St. Joseph's 14-0. The Raiders, as usual, used their powerful ground game in the win, gaining 203 yards while holding St. Joseph's to 80 yards on the ground. Joe Chirichigno was the outstanding player of the game. He picked up a total of 128 yards in 21 carries and scored all fourteen points. Regis took the ball on their own 31 and scored ten plays later with Chirichigno going over from the two. He then booted the extra point. In the third quarter the Raiders again took the ball, this time on their own 33 and scored thirteen plays later. In this drive Chirichigno ran for gains of seven, twenty-one, six, and eight yards before the touchdown was set up by a 20 yard Cattermole-Holland aerial. Chirichigno scored from the one and then kicked the extra point. REGIS I3-MULLEN I3 The Raiders went to the dressing room at half time trailing 6-O. After half time a new Regis team came onto the field. In the third period they scored two touchdowns and made a conversion. When the fourth quarter began, the Raiders were off again. They drove down to the one, and on the fourth down Chirichigno was stopped, and the touch- down, which would have cinched the game, stymied. Mullen scored and the game was tied 13 - 13. Regis started driving again. Cattermole intercepted a pass and ran it back to the Mullen 43. Then after three plays which took it down to the 19, Cattermole hit Holland in the end zone for an apparent touchdown, but some whistle-happy refree called it back. The Raiders threw three more passes, but none of them connected so the game ended in a tie. 5 B 1 e , , V4
