pi REC-JIS 27-HOLY FAMILY 0 The Raiders beat Holy Family by a score of 27-0. They used their ground game and defense to take this victory. They gained 206 yards on the ground and put relentless pressure on Holy Family when the Tigers were in possession of the ball. Regis first scored on a 27 yard drive capped by a five yard run by quarterback George Cattermole. Joe Chirichingo added the extra point, the first of three. The next touchdown came on a 30 yard pass from Cattermole to Ed Bohn. Mike Miles scored another touchdown on a 16 yard run. The last touchdown was made by Dave Pipkin going over from the two. REGIS 29-ST. FRANCIS 6 The Regis Raiders, in their Homecoming game, ground out an easy 29-6 victory over St. Francis. The Raiders' first touchdown drive came early in the second period, a 30 yard run by Mike Miles followed by a 34 yard pass from George Cattermole to Vince Greco. Greco then scored on a four yard end run. The next tally was by Cattermole on a 38 yard run-back of an intercepted pass. Mike Miles went over from the six inch line for the third touchdown. Later Regis got two more points on a safety. The last score came on a 29 yard pass from Cattermole to Chirichigno.

REGIS 28-MT. CARMEL O Fhe Regis Raiders opened their regular league season by methodically crushing Mt. Carmel 28-O. Regis showed a powerful ground game and a rock-ribbed defense. They gained 405 yards on the ground while holding Mt. Carmel to 108 yards on total offense. Joe Chirichigno paced the Raiders. He gained 196 yards in 17 carries and kicked two extra points. His touchdowns came on runs of 4, 22, and 68 yards. The other Regis points were scored by Vince Greco on a 1 yard run and Ed Couehlin who tackled a Mt. Regis scored their first touchdown with little more than three minutes elapsed in the first quarter, when George Catter- mole skirted right end on a keeper play. After a fifteen yard holding penalty moved the ball back to the seventeen, Chirichigno's placement was good. The next touchdown was scored by speedy Vince Greco. The extra point try by Chirichigno was again good. The third Regis touch- down was scored by workhorse Chirichigno. His placement hit the goal post and was no good. The Regis scoring was closed out by Cattermole on a quarterback sneak. Chirichigno split the uprights on his try for the extra point.

REC-EIS 32-CATHEDRAL I3 Regis, in its best showing all season, beat the Cathedral Blue Jays handily, 32-13. The Raiders held Cathedral tc 18 yards on the ground and gained 210 themselves. Regis also showed a very good pass defense, intercepting four Cathedral passes and limiting the Blue Jays to six comple- tions out of 22 passes thrown. The first Raider touchdown came after a 65 yard march which took thirteen plays, Joe Chirichigno scoring from the one. Chirichigno scored the next touchdown on a 29 yard run, and the third touchdown when he intercepted a pass and ran 44 yards to paydirt. Cattermole scored the fourth tally on another intercepted pass. Regis gained 156 yards on the ground while limiting the Cardinals to minus 9 yards. Most of the Annunciation yardage was gained in the fourth quarter. On the kick- off Regis recovered an Annunciation fumble on the Card's 19. Regis capitalized on this break with Dave Pipkin scoring from the 2. In the second quarter Pipkin raced 55 yards and Cattermole 16 yards for touchdowns. ln the third period Greco scored on a 33 yard pass, and Mike Holland scored on another 25 yard pass. ln the fourth quarter Cattermole intercepted a pass and sped 66 yards for the last touch- down.
