de fzeaddeafa 77ie4cage My Dear Graduates: We are living in days of bewilderment and uncertainty. Individuals and nations are disturbed about the present and anxious for the future. They are asking themselves Can our problems be solved in such a way that we can have lasting peace and security? The answer to that question is yes, but the methods employed must be adequate. The real struggle in the world today is not between forms of government, between dictatorship and democracy. The conflict is much more fundamentalg it is between religion and godlessness, between paganism and Christianity. The only force that can save the world from communism is the love of God. There can be no abiding peace unless Christ is brought back into His world. In restoring Him to His people men who have had the benefits of a Catholic education must play a leading part. Among them must be Regis graduates. You have learned Christian principles but the intellectual acceptance of them is not enough, you must live by those principles and bring them to the knowledge and the respect of others. You will do that by living always as Catholic gentlemen no matter what particular forms your individual careers may take. Be true to that vocation. Be happy to be known as Cath- olics. Be proud to be considered different from those who have not had your training. As the Regis Faculty bids you farewell it wishes you every worthy success. Real success in life consists in saving one's own soul and in helping others to save theirs. You will ac- complish both these ends if you remain true to the ideals and principles which you have learned in your Catholic homes and here at Regis. May God give you the character and the vision to live always by that high ambition. rwlaef W . fffrwrnfbly,
