, 1 4' lt Celebrate Self Self-celebration, celebrating-selfg the act of being happy with one's own faults and assets. Along the same line as Happi- ness is . . . , it is taking an aspect of self in a grim situation, and accepting it for what it is. Examples of this are playing sports, cheerleading, dancing, playing a musical instrument, sewing, cooking, building, writing, drawing, and composing for the enjoyment it brings the self. Dressing, speaking, and behaving the way a person desires is also self-celebration, for it is liv- ing the way that person wants. Self-celebration does not necessarily mean something one works at, an aesthetic or ecstatic feeling can come about because of a sunshiny day, a compliment from a friend, an A on a composition, riding a bicycle, purchasing a new pair of jeans, or receiving a long-awaited letter in the mail.
