Theodore Fuertges, O.S.B. History ivvqgg Hn 1 ji. Bebe Gnllege zmh Acahenrg Iileru, Jllinuis ,mt March 12, 1957 Dear Parents: At the suggestion of those boys working on the yearbook, this copy of the VIA BAEDA is being dedi- cated to you. The boys wished not only to express their appre- ciation for your labors and interest in them but they also wanted you to get a more personal look into their year's activities - to participate, as it were, in their life at St. Bede. In this manner they take you to class with them, to the Chapel for a Visit to the Blessed Sacrament, to their parties and dances, even to a meal in the refectory. Perhaps this idea will help to build a more closely knit family unit where each may participate in the other's training and education. This can be accomplished easily by basing one's whole life on the home at Nazareth, and when one has Jesus, and Mary, and Joseph on his side he can't possibly lose. It is with these thoughts in mind that the boys presented and dedicated this year's annual to you. Sincerely in St. Benedict 74,691.09 CIDLLEGE OFFICIAL Rev. Nicholas Schille, O.S.B. Rev. What these the 1957 Academy graduates do in the future will redound to the honor and glory of St. Bede College and Academy and will show forth the soundness of its aims and philosophy. Most of the graduating seniors have higher education in View-some for the priesthood, some for engineering or commerce, while others look forward to the professions of medicine, or law, or pharmacy. One has re- ceived an appointment to West Pointg another is looking forward to the Air Force Academy. But the future is still the future. And right now the important thing is that these students have reached a milestone in their lives-graduation from high school. May happiness and joy he theirs. Congratulations from one and all. Certain ones, however, stand out for their individual and painstaking help. Such for example are Mrs. Samel and john Roche of the Root Studios in Chicago. In this same category also would fall james Murphy, Walter Utz, Ir., and Father Raymond for their untiring and patient zeal in the photography department. No end of thanks can be extended to the Advertisers and Patrons, without whose help the VIA BAEDA could not see the light of day.
