It should be a permanent reminder of the various activities during your years at St. Bede, bringing back to you in memory the courses you struggled through, the members of the faculty that helped you in these struggles, the memories of those fellows with whom you associated so freely, and, above all, the constant reminder of the whole basis of your educational program — your duties toward your God, toward your fellowman, and towards yourself. In these days of turmoil, when the future looks rather bleak, try always to remember the place and purpose God has in mind for you.
