St. Albans High has given us many unforgettable experiences, and in return, we have given her our hard work, our loyalty, and our gratitude. We, the Class of 1960, leave behind us the memory of our fun-packed three years, and we take with us the hope that succeeding generations of Dragons may be able to look back with pride on our three wonderful years. We have come to a turning point in our lives, and we pause for a moment to reflect on the past years. The first day of school and losing our ways in the maze of classrooms. . .our upperclassmen making us tow the line as new students. . .our junior year with the pace of school quickened. . .Student Council election . . .our Prom Southern Plantation . .now seniors the days pass like a whirlwind our class ring. . .the Winter Whirl . . . new educational policies graduating seniors from St. Albans Hlgh School S if K As' f C, 4' Q Q r -3, W it ' 49 , v 0,9 4 hmm:-GQ 1 W t 34. 1' i ' . ' QQ ? X 'fl T lass qt 1.950 We will remember these things that have been St. Albans High School to us,, but most of all, we will re- member the teachers and the friends that have made these three years so great. It is not that first game, or that first dance, or that first time we heard our band or the singing of our Alma Mater that is so hard to say good-bye to. Those things are already memories. It ' is saying good-bye to the underclassmen who filled'our places as we moved onward, to the teachers who put up with so much and never quite gave up on us, and it is saying good-bye to each other that will make grad- uation so hard. As the year has quickly gone along, it has become harder and harder to say a thank you to all the friends and faculty to whom we owe so much. So, we have not said anything, and, somehow, we know that they understand. This is why we have not talked much about it beforehand and why we will walk so slowly down that aisle to graduate, for we know that the years to come can never be quite like the years that St. Albans High School has given us. The official emblem of the Honor Society is the Keystone and the flaming torch. The Keystone has for ages been a symbol of strength and perfection. At the base of the Keystone the letters, CSLS, which stand for Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service, are inscribed. The flaming torch symbolizes the light of knowledge which must be carried into the darkness of ignorance in order to enlighten the shadowy places of the world. The main activity and the main source of income of the Keystone Chapter of the National Honor Society is keeping the supply room, where students may purchase their school supplies. It sponsors a librar of college catalogs which is open to all students. Also, since 1947, our chapter has held an annual banquet for both active and graduate members. The Keystone Chapter has five officers, elected by the members. Being a mem- ber of the National Honor Society is one of the greatest honors a student may receive in high school. 98 Honor Society Officers New Members DENNIS WEBSTER . . . . .
