eam Work and dedication pa y 0 11 ahuaro High School is proud of its nationally recognized newsmagazine. Mountain Shad- ows. For the past five years, the Mountain Shadows has received the All American Award. which is given by the National Scholas- tic Press Association. The maga- zine was judged along with publi- cations from high schools across the nation. This year the Mountain Shadows staff created a whole new image for itself. converting to a news- magazine format. Some of the changes included putting more em- phasis on feature material and us- ing less current news, which be- came quickly outdated. Patnoe. B. Stern. D. Silver. M. Miller. B. Spencer. K. Roma. Ruben Ramirez as editor. and Mr. Bill Thompson as adviser. Each member had to be recommended to Mr. Thompson. and had to sub- mit a formal letter of application. Everyone had a specific duty to carry out. and had to cooperate with the others to meet the dead- lines of the monthly publication. The most important things Mr. Thompson tried to teach his stu- dents were teamwork. writing skills. and good organization. His teaching, along with the dedication of the staffl certainly paid off The time and care put into each issue was clearly evident. l. Mr. Thompson lends a helping hand. 2. News Editor.
