In emulation. perhaps, of this year's box office knock-out Tootsie, Two of the new events in Spirit Week featured guys in girls' roles: one was the He- man volleyball game which the sen- iors triumphantly won. It worked out quite well considering the fact that it was the first year guys en- tered the female domain of spikes , set-ups , and voIleys. The Mr. Irresistible contest was a new addition in which guys, repre- senting each class, dressed up as girls in skirts, panty-hose, high :5kfiRQ.,, f B. Of course, walking around all day long wearing high heels can get alittle tiresome, but getting money for it- indefensi- ble!! The Tootsie whose irresisti- bility solicited the most votes was Sophomore Joe Castreano. The money collected by the partici- pants was given to the respective classes. Spirit Week also included the con- ventional games such as the spoon race, the egg toss, te pie eating contest, and the clothes relay. The Cougar Games and the Spirit as- 13 X 7, 16 sembly were a much more intense part of the week. They gave many students the opportunity to win points for their class and to have fun and make fools of themselves at the same time. The schedule during the week in- cluded: Red-and-Blue Day, New Wave Day, Preppy Day, Beach! Surfer Day, and Warm-up Day-a popular and comfortable new addi- tion. I think it would be neat to see more people participate and get in- volved, said Beth Stern. SPIRIT WEEK L. Fig
