IQHPIQFAH SCENE omecoming. What do you think of when you hear this word? Floats. graduated cheerleaders coming back to cheer, hopeful roy- alty nominees circling the track against the cold wind. and the win- ning football game. This was the scene at Sahuaro on November 5. IQ82. The theme of this years floats was the movies. the Freshmen with Pol- tergiest, the Sophomores with Caveman, the Juniors with Wizard of Oz, and the Seniors winning with King Kong. At half time the Home- coming nominees circled the track in Thunderbirds instead of the usu- al Corvettes. The game was exciting from the beginning to the last three seconds when Sahuaro kicked a field goal and went on to tie the game, 34-34. against the Amphi Panthers. and one of last years kings .lo Estes were on hand to crown Bria Last years queen. This years winning float was the Seniors' King Kong. 4. Chuck Stopani and Jackie Rosenburg share their mo- ment of happiness. 5. Returning royalty Chris Carlton and Joe Estes crown the new king and queen. 6. Senior king and queen Brian Bingold and Laura Rupp. 7. This years .lunior royalty: Rodne Peete and Beth Stern 8. B. Thomas fter a month of preparation the Junior-Senior Powder Puff game took place on October I3. l982. The seniors showed their su- periority by drubbing the juniors 26-6. and the juniors showed their class by congratulating the seniors with a smile. All of the participants had a lot of fun and raised almost S4617 in the process. The winning coaches were: Louis Schutte, Darin Fila, Mike Sarabia. .leff Lattomus, Earl Wadsworth and John Sabia.
