O 0 G8 Q33 QQ Q38 Cooking, Se Wing, Challenge ooking. Sewing. Challenge of marriage and Child Care were all part of the Home Eco- nomics Department. Students in these classes learned all about different foods and how to pre- pare them, nutrition, sewing and much more. The Fine Arts Department had many different aspects to it such as Drama, marching band. chorus. orchestra and art. Dra- ma had a fine year and put on many plays that were always at- tended by interested students. The orchestra and band perfor- mances were also enjoyed by students, parents and faculty members. l. Mrs. Bratt instructs the class on what to do. 2. These students are learning about the different aspects of art. 3. Mr. Burgess, the drama teacher. holds back a grin. 4. The classes studied the cultures and customs of the dif- ferent countries. Spanish was of- fered up to 5 years, French up to 3 years and Latin two years. Some History classes offered to Juniors were Immigration. American Revolution, Westward Expansion, Minorities in Amer- ica, Boom and Bust and Postwar American. Some government classes of- fered to seniors were the Legis- lative Process, Rights Before the Law, American Foreign Policy. Executive Process and the Sovi- et Union. Free Enterprise broadened the students' horizons of the Ameri- can Economic system. lt taught how to become a better consum- er as well as learning how to pur- chase stock. The Foreign Language and Social Studies Department gave Sa- huaro students an experience they ll never forget. l. Mr. Crawford looks up from some pa- pers he is correcting. 2.
