Ha Ve you ave you ever wondered what goes on in the 4417 building? This is where the Production Print- ing room is located. The Produc- tion Printing class is kept very busy every year. This year was no different. They print the tickets for school activities. the programs. and about 75 Z of all the forms the administration uses everyday. Some new machines were bought this year for printing. They got a ever wondered what goes on? Multi l850 Metalist Offset Press, a twenty eight inch po wer paper cut- ter. a new plate developing sink, a two- wa y inspection light for the dark room. and a new rubber stamp machine. The class itself is made up of some very talented printers who show great potential for futures in print- ing. Tim Frauenfeld and Erik Gibson concentrate on Offset printing. Leslie Combo and Kim Dunigan and Kelly Dement concentrate on com- puter Typesetting. In order to be a part of the Produc- tion Printing Class you must have completed Graphic Arts and Ad- vanced Printing. The class is basi- cally made up of Juniors and Sen- iors. ougar Band takes it to the top. or the first time since I972. The Sahuaro Band, under the direc- ion of Mr. Bruce Amman. won the oveted Nunamaker Award. ne of three bands to receive this onor at University of Arizona and Day. the marching band of 982 showed themselves to be truly superior. IThe Nunamaker Award of Distinc- ion is the highest honor a band can receive. It is awarded only to those bands receiving superior rat- ings in all three categories. march- ing, music, and general effect. The band showed their excellence a second time at the State March- ing Festival in Mesa. Arizona. where they received a superior rating. The band consisted of approxi- mately l70 members. Godfrey, K. Runkle, N. Martin. three auxillary units: the flag corps, the rifle corps, and the poms. who added that special touch that made the band what it was. The marching band of l982 was a fine group of talented and hard- working individuals. who put in many long hours of practice to- ward reaching their goals. The dedication of the members, along with the guidance of Mr. Am- man and drum majors Mike Engel, Chris McCormick. and .lay Mel- berg, shaped the band into one of the top bands in the state. The Sahuaro Band of l982 and their accomplishments will be long re- membered. l. Drum Major Ja y Melberg adds pizazz to the show. 2. Performing their Nunamaker show at band day. 3.
