GIRLS ATHLETIC ASSGCIATIGN The Girls Athletic Association, a newly formed organization at Sahuarita, has accomplished a full school year of work. They elected officers, who were as follows: President and Student Council Representative-Dina Alegria, Vice President-Debbie Rickgauer, Secretary- Ueasurer-Annie Trujillo. The G.A.A. set up a point System, in which girls can earn letters and pins. Saliuarita was represented at the GAA-G. R.A. Leader- ship conference at the University of Arizona by four girls from the G.A.A. They sponsored a candy sale near Valentine's Day. The 67-68 service project was a scrapbook for the boy's baseball team. Among the sports they participated in were volleyball, softball, swimming, gymnastics, and basketball. The purpose of the G.A.A. is to promote friendship, good sportsmanship, an interest and participation in athletics, and to create an interest in health. The Little Sahuaro chapter of the F.H.A. has been one of the most active clubs here at Sahuarita. They collected and gift Wrapped packages for soldiers .W in Viet Nam. The girls made stuffed T toys for a children's hospital. The F.H.A. had a Foreign Foods dinner for their mothers and sponsored a chili supper. Each girl in the F.H.A. made a uniform to be worn to meetings. The Little Sahuaro chapter was represented at the state meeting by five girls and two sponsors.
