Retreat 74 A group of twenty-four girls shared a very heart- warming experience on a weekend retreat organ- ized and led by Ms. Laura Stein. The atmosphere for the retreat was set by the clear air and the beautiful surroundings of Big Bear , California . Also accompanying the girls were Fr. Haley, Miss Marilyn McCandless, Mrs. Genie Mildon, Mrs. Rosalie Sandoval and a good friend of Ms. Stein ' s, Mary Goodwin. The high point of the retreat was the warmth shared by all on Saturday night as everyone enthu- siastically participated in the celebration of the mass. Although leaving on Sunday afternoon came quickly, the memories still being shared will remain for a life time. 113

Thanksgiving Mass This is the time of year when Sacred Heart of Mary offers up a mass to give thanks for everythin g each girl has received in the past year. This year was different. At the end of the mass Mr. Zimmerman led the school in a new song . Everyone joined in and got carried away. The whole school loved the new and different approach to a Thanksgiving Mass. 112
