marvelous night In a small town, there was held in the cool evening end days of winter an annual boll. Every maiden anxiously looked forward to its arrival, when she too would be able to attend. As sure as the moon hangs in the sky, the night of the ball came. On the ninth day into the month of February, the maid- ens dressed in all their finery started for the ball. They arrived to the ballroom transformed and filled with starlight and sweet music while dancers whirled around to the sounds. As time flew into the night, the announcement of the Queen come. Which of the fair princesses, Judy de Lao, Gra- de Sauceda, or Irene Serna was it to be? She was named — it was Queen Gracie Sauceda who reigned over the night. Everyone shared in her joy and happiness. The night ended all too soon, and the maidens left reluc- tontly with fond memories of that time. It had been a marvel- ous night for a moondance. S.H.M. ' s Christmas Dance was a memorable evening for all who attended. The theme, a Winter ' s Dream of Love, certainly came to pass OS one walked into a room filled with soft lights and romantic music. The night came to a climax with the crowning of the gracious Queen, Rosemary Gonzales, who was escorted by Manuel Novar- ete. The beautiful Princesses were Kathy Davis, escorted by Joe Destito, and Kathy Voldivia, escorted by Art Villa. 125
