The fine arts program in S.H.M. stresses the artistic, the creative, and the cultural. For those who love music and art, various courses are offered. The fine arts class studies the history of music and art. The music appreciation students enioy the finest in music listening. In art class the girls are given an oppor- tunity to demonstrate their creative abilities on canvas. They enter their work in various national art contests. The students aesthetic sense is sharpened in the music appre- ciation class.

Proficiency in the art of baking is achieved in the foods class. Future homemakers develop pro- ficiency in the domestic arts under the capable supervision of Mrs. Gor- don. Culinary courses are offered in Foods l and ll, in which the girls pre- pare and serve dinners and delica- cies of foreign lands as well as basic American dishes. Future seam- stresses learn the do's and don'ts of sewing, developing their skills in a four year Zclothing course.
