SISTER HELEN JOSEPH Sister Helen Joseph ' s strive for perfection dom¬ inates her altruism and serves as an encourage¬ ment to our short-comings. Typing and secre¬ tarial skills have been developed under Sister ' s keen and concerned eye throughout our high school years. Interest in our personality growth was always her major objective. The pinnacle of precision, Sister will be remembered with an apostrophe-back-space-period by the Class of ' 62. SISTER ROSALIE Sister Rosalie is a friend to every member of our class. An artist of song and patience, she has fostered the flowering of our vocal potential Also, Sister has rooted us in the rudiments of flowing French. The love and loyalty that she has given us will never be fully realized until eternity. With a song in our hearts we shall always remember Sister Rosalie. SISTER MARY CECILE From Pompey to conjugations Sister Mary Cecile has amiably introduced us to the realm of Latin. She bore our linguistic frustrations as nobly as our freshman frivolity. Always available when assistance was sought, Sister helped launch us in the newness of Sodality. Her untiring efforts have opened up many new avenues of learning which we treasure along with her memory. MR. GIL O ' NEILL Mr. Gil O ' Neill joined the faculty in September 1961, as a mathematics instructor and head of the athletic department. In both areas he has scored high in our estimation and his excellent work and adherence to principles serve as an inspiration to each of us. In addition to inten¬ sifying our physical fitness program, Mr. O ' Neill has fostered the full development of the moral, intellectual, social, and spiritual char¬ acter, befitting a graduate of Sacred Heart.

As dark night steals upon my youth, I turn back to the dawn; And to the day that it gave breath, Nearly gone. As daybreak swathes the new-born hour, My mother warmed her child; And like a birdsong thrills the air, My father smiled. Like rain -hat softly nurtures earth, They bathed me in that hour With urge and love and laugh and tear, A gentle shower. And when the beating mid-day sun Flung its scorch across the sky, They hovered me in cool retreat Where flickers shy. Then when it began to sink, They led me out with love whereon When twilight spilled the dimming sky They tarried on. And now as awesome shadows fall And gnawing night breaks through, I plunge alone into the dark, My path revealed by that one spark Which trips through air from that one star That they have hung in God ' s broad sky Then stand afar. Joseph Moore ' 62
