They must be easy to find because they are the most sought after people in the school. Business never lags for them. At program changing time they are the busiest and most ingen- ious of the faculty. They can deftly twist stubborn periods into a very satisfactory program, and they must do this for every individual in the long queue which is often found outside their doors. The picture at the lower right seems to have been taken in one of those rare intervals when nearly everyone was without troubles and in his assigned class. Aside from their duties as counselors each one teaches a class or two, and some sponsor clubs or classes. They are the main contact between school and home. They must soothe the irate parent, make promises for the wayward child's improve- ment, and gently chide those scholars with meandering minds and low marks. The counselors create the low sophomores first impression of high school, and it is a very favorable one.
