From this time on there will always be at least two senior high schools in this city. That will mean a new departure and a new experience for us. For all time then the annual of 1937 will stand as the last annual to represent the entire senior high school situation. From now on the annual too will have a friendly rival in the annual of the new school. Under the circumstances I believe it to be particularly fitting that The Review, in its usual fine spirit of friendship and co-operation, bid a welcome to the new Senior High School and extend a helping hand to the establishment and organization of a new Sacra- mento annual. I want to express my appreciation to the many members of the faculty and student body who have given faithfully of their time to the production of this annual. You have served a 606 school in a fine way: My congratulations to all! Principal

COUNSELORS Y Rs JAMES CALLAGHAN MRS. MAUDE DALE OUNSELOR5 of the Sacramento senior high school, we salute you! Your sympathetic understanding of our problems, your invaluable advice, your encouragement when we need it most, your expert guidance, yes, and your timely admonitions, have all made of us a finer, more competent group of future citizens. A tremendous job it is, for 10 men and women to super- vise the education of nearly four thousand students, for their education has many phases, and all are equally important. Our counselors must check on the deportment, attendance, scholarship, and citizenship of each and every one of us, and do all that they can to assist us in whatever manner we might Miss LouisE FLAA J. N. GARDNER most need their support. In conjunction with all these duties, our counselors have the added responsibility of teach- ing several classes during the day, however, with the coming of next semester, conditions will be greatly simplified, and it will be only with the passing of many years that member- ship in the Sacramento senior high school will be so great. So fundamental a change will enable our counselors to work out the individual problems of each student more com- pletely. Counselors of the Saciamento senior high school, for the great part you have played in the shaping of our futures, and in developing the very best in us, we try in vain to find a tribute that will measure your worth. lime 3 I i Miss BLANCHE GRANDE-ISIAITRE Miss AILEEN JOSES MRs.
