HOMECOMING A loud burst of applause greeted Darlene Strahm as she stepped through a paper heart to be crowned Homecoming Queen by co-cap- tains Eugene Mosiman and Merlin Steiner. Thus spurred on by the half-time ceremonies, the Blue Jays defeated the Horton Hornets 21- 13 to make for a successful homecoming. Queen Darlene, escorted by Larry Baker and her attendants, LaVerne Strahm and Connie Smith, escorted by Larry Howard and Gary Strahm, were seated at the sidelines to observe the victorious Blue Jays. The climaxing feature of the evening was a dance with music by the Combo and participa- tion by both students and alumni. Not London Bridge but honoring the Home- coming Queen, Darlene. Mose , captain for the game, plants a kiss.
