For most students the memory of the concert will not be what kind of a performance was given, but rather, the damage that was done to the gym! It is per- haps best explained by a letter written at the time by then Senator Pro-Tern, Craig Borner. Fellow students, you have outdone yourselves! Somehow you have managed to do close to $3000. of damages to our gymnasium during the Alice Cooper Concert. Cigarette burns, broken glass, food, bever- ages, — all these things that you so deftly smuggled into the gym added to the damage. . . . You may argue that the damage was done by out- siders not PSUC students, yet the vast majority of peo- ple who we confronted for smoking WERE students here. Granted there were some townies there, in- cluding a thirteen year old boy walking around with a joint, and a sixteen year old girl flipped out on acid. Some unknown student had given her a can of beer laced with acid, unknown to her, and she spent the rest of the night in tears, frightened to death. There are many pros and cons to the above exerpts, but the fact remains that the damage was done and the Student Senate, as Student Association leaders, had to decide whether or not the student body was capable of handling any further concerts. It was a terrible position to put anyone in and it is only by their faith in the stu- dents that concerts have continued at Plattsburgh. Please don ' t smoke at any of our future concerts — the next time the Senate may not be so understanding! V.V.A.W. i ii !! !! III 51 HIH 8 May 9, 1972 Message to the Students: It has been my privilege over the last 12 hours (until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday) to talk with literally hundreds of stu- dents about their feelings in response to President Nixon ' s Monday night speech. I am very proud to say that students on this campus have shown an alertness to the seriousness of the problem and to the urgency required by this latest turn in the Viet Nam War. As would be expected almost all students interviewed would like to take some constructive action toward changing President Nixon ' s approach to the resolution of the War. One result was the march on the Federal Building. I personally do not see such a march as being particularly helpful at this time. Since it was peaceful, it certainly has done no harm. I think this is the key to the whole matter. We must remain true to our own principles of non-violence while at the same time mar- shalling our efforts to seek immediate relief from world conflict. Whatever political action people decide to take, it should be directed toward gaining the support of others rather than alienating them from the cause of peace. The problem of critical importance is to learn how to permit people to use a great variety of means to STUDENT PROTEST achieve a common goal. All of us want to end the War as soon as possible. What we differ about is the pro- cedures to be used. Some students would like to close College classes. To me this would be a divisive tactic whereby some students try to coerce others. We have all learned that coercion is destructive of our energies and especially destroys a spirit of unity. Our first resolve must be to urge people to seek their own means of working for immediate peace. Students can legitimate- ly take leadership in organizing door to door cam- paigns, telephone campaigns, letter writing campaigns and other means of communicating with the President of the United States. It is the President who is making the particular decisions that command our attention at this time. The times call for immediate non-violent action based on careful thought and courageous lead- ership. Please believe that I share your commitment to peace, the urgency of the situation and the call for di- rect action. GEORGE W. ANGELL President 9 10 13 14 18 20 21 23 - lf ... The Queen, Patti Cole and her court, Connie Burt, Terri Mahoney, Sue McMorrow, Debbie Shaffer and Denise White, were presented at this time. Bobby Comstock ' s Group began a tremendous three night appearance at the Pub. The traditional fireworks were moved to Friday night to welcome returning alumni. Friday also brought the rain — the first in PSUC ' s Homecoming history. Stu- dents worked under plastic coverings to complete the floats and someone was on our side as the rain let up just long enough for the parade to finish. Spirits were not dampened as everyone was assem- bled for the awards presentation. Float awards went to MacDonough Hall, Mason Hall and Building III, re- spectively in the independent division. In the Greek division, Phi Kappa Chi received first place, followed by Sigma Tau Sigma, second and AD-Beta, third. The mini-float entitled Autumn done by students on ' Margaret and Cornelia Streets captured the Mini award and the Alumnireceivedthe Community plaque for their float dedicated to the Queen and Court. Scholastic cups were presented to Pi Alpha Nu and Theta Alpha Lambda. The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the coveted President ' s Cup. Given to the Campus organization which most actively serves the college and the community, this year was awarded to Ph Kappa Chi Sorority. The Cardinals swamped Brockport State 15-0 Saturday afternoon, proving again that the rain was no handicap. That evening the semi-formal was held in the gym. Although Sunday ' s plans were rained out, a concert featuring Dave Mason, Jim Dawson, Bos Scags and V ' jimmie and Vella proved to be a perfect finish to the , GreatesVShow on Earth. The weekend began with a Beer Blast in Saranac Dining Hall featuring Kiss . On Saturday morning winners of the window painting com- petition were announced, as follows: Greeks — Phi Kappa Chi (first), Alpha Kappa Phi (second) and Sigma Tau Sigma (third); Independents — Hood Hall (first), Building III (second), and Harrington Hall (third). Academic cups were presented to Pi Alpha Nu and Theta Alpha Lambda. The Sports Competitions were held on Saturday with a new innovation added this year in the form of Snowshoe Races. The annual semi-formal dance was held on Satur- day night. The decorations were beautifully done and everyone attending seemed to enjoy themselves. On Sunday afternoon there was a hockey game at the Field House with Kent Hall battling Security. The Wine and Cheese Party held that same night at Stage XIV was an excellent closing to what turned out to be a good week-end despite the fact that warm weather and a lack of snow prevented any snow sculptures. Co-chairmen for the week-end were Cheryl Brown and Doug Brown. WINTER WEEK-END 63 68 70 73 74 75 76 77 DEAN LAWRENCE With his resignation this summer, Vice President Lawrence left a distinguished thirteen year career at Plaltsburgh State. Dr. Lawrence, who has served as director of education, college dean, vice president for academic affairs and as acting President, will always be remembered for his thoughtful and effective educa- tional administration in which faculty and students shared equal consideration. In accepting Dr. Lawrence ' s resignation, President Angell spoke for us all when he said, It is difficult after all these years of working so closely with you to think about the College in the future without the help of your firm, friendly, guiding hand. I know that I speak for faculty and students when I say that they, as well as I, are losing the leadership of one of the finest and most capable administrators in higher education today. Your accomplishments at this college will remain a living monument to your stature as an educational statesman, a sound administrator and a thoroughly human person. All who have enjoyed your friendship have benefitted from your wise counsel and the strenght of your con- victions. 78 79 81 85 86 87 90 91 92 94 95 102 103 UKGISTIi INFORMATION DESK FIRST FLOOR „ AVOID TICKETS ■■til « ' • .••• t AUTHORIZED PARKING ONLY WB29A 104 105 106 107 109 110 112 116 CO-CURRICULAR 117 CARDINAL POINTS r—. 120 The 1972-73 school year brought many changes to WKGO It became a business instead of a poorly run club. This year there are over one hundred college students vol- unteering as Big Buddies and Big Sisters, each working with one child. The college volunteer sees his child weekly through- BIG BUDDY— BIG SISTER out the academic year. Some shared activities have included: basketball, swimming, teaching a musical instrument, tutoring, repairing a car, crocheting, taking the child to their own home, or many times just serving as a good listener. Many college students have vol- unteered for three and four years, and a happier, more confident child has been the inevitable result. 132 134 FORENSICS During the year 1972-73, the Plattsburgh Forensics Union has enjoyed substantial increases in the organi- zation ' s size and effectiveness. The program has in- creased its membership from 25 to over 40 and has increased the scope of competition from primarily a debate team to a full Forensic organization. This growth has also been accompanied with a more highly successful team as well. In debate competition we have captured a first place in the Niagara Tourna- ment, a second place in the Towson Invitational and individual honors for Sandy Wigtil, Mark Barie and David Kallet, all novices, at the Southern Connecticut Tournament. This success in our debate competition can be seen in our Varsity team ' s first semester record of 18 wins and 7 losses or better than 75% wins. Our novice or beginner teams all averaged about 50% wins both excellent marks. Our debate success not withstanding, our most amazing growth has occurred in the area of individual forensics events competition. More than half of our total membership now comes from this area and their record has also been outstanding. We have already qualified four people for National Championship Competition in individual events and also qualified one 2 man varsity debate team for the National Champion- ship of the American Speech Association. In individual events our outstanding performers have been Tom Saparito, Sussy Kamola, Dave Kallet and Ed Harris. The debate team heading for the Nationals is composed of Linda Fischer and Ed Harris. 135 136 139 SENATOR FRED HARRIS GEORGE PLIMPTON In conjunction with the Student Activities week-long George Plimpton, noted author of The Paper Lion, program, Environment One, Speakers Forum presented Out of My League and The Bogey Man, spoke on Senator Fred Harris of Oklahoma. The gaunt ex-comedian (still on his fast protesting Viet Nam) charmed, attacked and educated his listeners with one of his famous speeches for the cause of Civil and Human Rights. Mr. Gregory combined his charm, wit and insight to deliver a speech that will undoubtedly go down as one of the best ever p i l t | delivered on campus. Not only did the grown-up version of Spanky answer questions about his compatriots, but those in atten- dance were treated to a couple of original Little Rascals adventures. 142 JIM BOUTON On Friday, November 3rd, Jim Bouton spoke in Hawkins Hall Large Auditorium for a crowd of 500-525 students, faculty and townspeople. In his humorous and entertaining hour and forty-five minute talk and question and answer period, he touched on the areas of his two books, Ball Four and I ' m Glad You Didn ' t Take It Personally, his pitching career with the N.Y. Yankees and his present job as sportscaster on the WABC-TV Eye Witness News. Jim showed insight into why and how he wrote what he did and also shared inside stories of players he knew. The very receptive crowd was kept laughing and enter- tained throughout the entire talk. Following the speech, Mr. Bouton talked to members of the crowd and signed autographs for a good amount of time. As a speaker, Jim Bouton was entertaining and good. A sports figure was long over-due on this campus. He was more than courteous and went out of his way to accomodate everyone. Jerry Rubin, one of the Chicago 7 trial defendents spoke to an uneasy audience of 450 students and guests. After much difficulty, Rubin finally appeared two hours late and delivered an informal talk, spiced with anti-adminis- tration jabs and insights into the 1968 Democratic Con- vention. The show was composed of eight different skits or acts. ' Aquabatics ' , synchronized swimming and diving performances are all performed to music and are usual- ly directed by the girls. This year ' s roster included: Can- dy Williams, Cheryl Bridenbaker, Chris James, Lisa Abercrombie, Carol Bistline, Erika Bleau, Gail Abrams, Steff Bromirski, Brenda Gates, Amarillis Talevera, Jo- anne Dewath, Sue Gibson, Debbie Bushart, Collie Framer, Linda Lott, Joan Rousse, Veronica Sterkel, Nan- cy Walton, Rose Wehragen and Andrea Parrot. 168 MODERN DANCE 172 173 175 GOLF Host Plattsburgh State won the sixth annual Cardinal Invitational Tournament at Bluff Point Country Club with a team total of 312. Finishing behind the Cards were the University of Vermont, Sir George Williams, University of New Paltz, St. Michael ' s and Albany State. Gene Chip Ward won medallist honors with a 75. Mike O ' Connor and Ken Allen finished third and fourth, respectively, among the thirty competitors. In the eleven team Utica College Invitational Platts- burgh again scored 312 to finish third behind the Uni- versity of Buffalo and Rochester Tech. Mike O ' Connor scored a one over par 73 to gain second place medallist honors, one stroke better than Ward who finished third among the forty-four contestants. Twenty upstate colleges and universities competed in the annual Brook-Lea Invitational at Rochester. The Cardinals finished a respectable sixth place behind champion University of Buffalo and runner-up Syra- cuse University. Mike O ' Connor gained sixth place medallist honors of the eighty individual golfers. Cooperstown Community College was the site of the eleven member state university champions. Platts- burgh, with a 316 team total, finished a very close second to champion Oswego, just three strokes back. Mike O ' Connor ' s two over par 74 won third place honors among the sixty-six conference golfers. Team members Ken Allen and Mark Wilson finished fifth and sixth, respectively. Plattsburgh had previously won the championship in 1971 and 1964. Colgate was the site of the thirteenth annual E.C.A.C. qualifying, with twenty-three institutions represented. The Cards fine team showing of fifth place was over- shadowed by the individual performances of Chip Ward and Mike O ' Connor who finished fifth and tenth out of the 115 golfers and thus qualified for the E.C.A.C. championships which were played the following week- end. In the E.C.A.C. finals, both golfers made excellent showings to further enhance their chances of an N.C.A.A. bid next spring (73). Ward finished second among the college division entries and O ' Connor sixth to cap a great season. O ' Connor ' s 77.3 medal average earned him the M.V.P. honors. 177 Coach Casciani ' s 1972 Baseball Team featured seven freshmen, four returning players, three upperclass- men out for the first time and one armed service vet- eran who made his debut at the age of thirty-nine. The veterans included Bob Maher who won an all con- ference honorable mention last year, Team Captain Grant Spalding, one of the teams most versatile players, Jeff Sweet and Gary Jackson. The list of freshmen included four infielders, Larry Kraft, Mike Kennedy, Tim Cummings, and Art Dona- telli. Booker Jones caught for the team as did Larry Carpenter, who also played first base. Mike Carlin was one of the teams two left handed pitchers. The new upperclassmen who were added to the team included sophomore Tom Mele, junior Pete Conell in the infield and Doug Coon as a pitcher. Warren DeFazio was the thirty nine year old veteran, a junior, also added to the teams efforts. The teams record was wins and 18 losses. The 1972 Fall tennis team ended their season of two dual meets, with Albany and Potsdam, by winning one and losing one, and by placing seventh in the Cardinal Classic Fall tournament with eight points and placing sixth in the State University of New York Athletic Con- ference Championships with five points. Albany proved to be impossible to handle as the Cardinals fell by a score of 7-2. Only Bob Wojchowski with the help of Paul Trella enabled the squad to avert a shutout against the Great Danes. Wojchowski cap- tured his fourth singles tennis match, and then the Rochester native teamed with Paul Trella to gain the third place doubles clash. Potsdam was a completely different story and were easily handled by the Plattsburgh netmen. P.S.U.C. garnered five of the six matches before a cloudburst terminated play. Outstanding play in the Potsdam match was demon- strated by Pat LaHaise and George Hatt. Gary Braun- stein also had one of his best varsity showings. Paul Trella and doubles teams of LaHaise and Hatt all gain- ed victories to assure the cardinals of the necessary five points needed for a victory in the dual match. In the 1972 SUNY Championship Conference, it was Oneonta who captured the title with 25 points, Albany taking second with 23 points. Cortland, Oswego and Brockport filled out the top five spots, with Fredonia, Geneseo and Plattsburgh deadlocked for sixth place. Potsdam failed to score. For Plattsburgh, only two Redbirds wer e able to survive the opening round of competition. Pat LaHaise created a mild stir by downing Guidice of Fredonia, the top seeded singles entrant, in the opening day match. LaHaise, the Cardinals top netman during the season, remained in contention until the top flight singles clash to Moore of Cortland. This tournament marked the end of the most extensive fall tennis pro- gram ever undertaken by P.S.U.C. First man on the fall team was Jr. Pat LaHaise of Glen Falls, with Jr. George Hatt of Glenmont seeded second, followed by Freshman Gary Braunstein of Spring Valley, Fr. Bob Wojchowski of Rochester, Jr. Larry Pasti of Plattsburgh, Jr. Paul Trella of Watervleit, Jr. Tom Wahl of Webster, Bill Buttenkant and Soph. Mike Payne of Plattsburgh. It did, however, finish with a full team. Outstanding wrestlers this year were George Peterson 118 and Jim Babeis 134. All wrestlers deserve praise for withstanding a very difficult season and so does their coach Mr. Schlacter. PLATTSBURCH OPPONENT 20 Clarkson 32 6 Potsdam 42 4 St. Lawrence 43 15 Plymouth 30 182 183 A season of dashed hopes, unfulfilled ambitions, and frustrated glory. Thus ended the ' 72 Cardinal sea- son. Such pre-season promise, with a tourney win at Albany, fired the Cardinal booters with a spirit and enthusiasm that carried them through the campaign, dampened only by serious injury to several key per- formers and self inflicted frustration at missed oppor- tunities. Highlighted by a win over arch-rivals Brockport, the season showed what might have been. But, for all the unfulfilled potentials, the basis of team spirit has been laid for the battles to come. Tom Rootes kept goal with spirit and tenacity, ably supported in defense by John Hornbach, Luigi Cor- cione at fullback positions. Bernie BlumenthalPs out- side flicks and Cliff Hebard ' s dashing strength balanced the strength of Cole Lyons and the rock of the defense, Dana Weeden. Fellow townsman, Jeff Trombly provid- ed sterl ing service in the opening encounters. Tim Playford and Gaston Njume were the dynamos of the mid-field force and much depended on their successful link up with forwards and defense. Greg Horine stepped into this central sphere to add his de- termined play. Up front, Nick Goddard took on a lot of the offen- sive drive, keeping the forward line ticking and knitt- ing the attack generally. He was ably assisted by Abdel- la Mohammed, Terry Murphy and Harry Fashalla. Arty Mac and Todd Birch provided strength on the wings with Mike Phillips and George Hubbell turning on the added thrust down the middle when required. He is required to hang, swing, run, twist, balance, somersault, and be able to control his body while doing so. And while he does his routine he is alone, he has no teammates to help him if he makes a mistake. After the gymnast learns a few tricks, he puts together a routine. During the season he practices his routine twice a day, he has very little time to learn new tricks. The team stresses form in their routines since that counts for almost half the score. According to Deke Pederson, this year ' s captain, the spectator can appreciate gymnas- tcis more if they try to put themselves in the performer ' s place. Just try and think about it or try to get up there yourself. Although gymnastics does not receive as much publicity as other sports there is still a great deal of pressure on the performer since he is up there alone in front of everyone. Gymnastics is ' almost an art, it can be beautiful as well as spectacular. ' 187 COACH ROGER CASCIANI ' S COMMENTS ON THE 1972 SEASON: Pittsburgh State College ' s first varsity football season was a successful one with six wins in a row following two losses. The opening loss was a strong but fruitless showing against St. Lawrence, 0-16. Then followed a disastrous nightmare aginst Nichols. Failing to score from within the ten yard line five times, the Cardinals lost a game that would typify their 1971 season by the score of 6-14. The team sucked up their guts and de- feated their next six opponents in a satisfying finish. Eleven freshmen started in the first game and at least nine started in every other game. Combining this strong freshman group with some outstanding return- ees gave the Cardinals just enough depth. Although the offense still needs much improvement, the running attack of 1203 yards almost doubled 1971 ' s output; and passing yardage was nearly equal. Credit for offensive improvement can be given to some talented young linesmen (four fresh starters out of seven) and a new group of versatile backs. More praise should be given the defense. No team scored more than 16 points against it, and it yielded an average of only 8 points per game. Only one touch- down pass was thrown against the Cardinal secondary. Two touchdowns were set up by blocked punts and two by fumbles. The defense rose time and again to turn back drives at crucial points. Outstanding praise for offensive efforts should be given to center Larry Liberatore, tackle Dennis Beadle, ends Bob Finn and Chris Cringle, quarterback Tim White, and halfback Jim McMullen. Defensive stand- outs included safety John Carpenter, monster Steve Garcia, linebacker John Coughenour, tackle Mike Dea- son, and cornerback Don Daley. New England Plymouth Bridgewater Albany OPPONENT 16 14 14 7 6 7 191 HOCKEY This year marked the first season that Pittsburgh endeavored into the field of hockey, and it will defi- nitely not be the last! This was the first of a three to four year period that the team will have to undergo as a club team before being granted varsity status. The Cardinal leers ended their first season with a 9-15-1 record that did more than just raise an eyebrow from a skeptic athletic staff, and a very enthusiastic student body. The Cardinal leers started their season with the sweet taste of victory as they defeated Paul Smiths College and gave goalie Brad Ott his only shut-out of the sea- son, with the majority of the scoring coming from left winger John Laurie and right winger Tom Longshore. The next six games were real heartbreakers for the team reaching its low point with the Cards bowing to R.P.I, by a score of 22-0. The cards had been definitely outclassed and if it hadn ' t been for the fantastic goal- keeping efferts of both Brad Ott and Larry Wilbur stop- ping 95 shots from making their way into the net it might have been worse. One can ' t but respect these men because they must of had nightmares for days afterwards. The high point of the first half of the season came on the sixteenth of December when the Cards came back from a six game losing streak to win 6-3 against St. Michaels, and a great way to close the first half of the season. After a long Christmas break the Card leers returned to the ice on the 26th of January and victory against the Hemingford All-Stars. With Dave Mayette scoring two goals early in the game, Hemingford came back to tie 2- 2, then on a Paul Durant-John Laurie combination captain Howard Jennings scored one more to break the tie, but again Hemingford came back to tie. With nine seconds left in the game John Laurie scored on a pass from Howard Jennings to insure the win, final score 5-4. After the Hemingford game the team was winning a few and losing a few, they won against St. Michaels, the Burlington Braves and the Troy Cyclones before dropping into a slump. The Cards pulled themselves back to their most memorable win of the year when they defeated C.M.R. 3- 1, this was the game where the team just put it all together and just could not be held back or stopped in any shape, form, or manner. It all started with Dave Mayette scoring in the second period, then C.M.R. came back to tie, then Tom Longshore wrapped up the game with two goals in the third period. The Charter Members of the Cardinal Hockey team were: Howard Jennings — captain, Don Duncan — assistant, Scott Burns, Mickey Gallagher, Tom Jennings, Pete Kowalchuk, John Laurie, Bill Levy, Dave Mayette, Mike Purtell, Steve Whalen, and Bill Wilson. This year ' s goalies stopped an incredible 826 shots on goal while allowing only 126 goals. The managers were Paul Herbs, Steve Newkofsky and Bernie Schmelz, without these three guys around things could have been very dis- appointing, but they kept the faith. Last but not least there is the Cards coach Mr. John Corker, without him to keep on the guys it would have been a rough season. 192 193 194 PLATTSBURGH 11 Paul Smiths College 3 Lake Placid Roamers 4 3 Lake Placid Pabst Blues 4 2 McDonald College 11 R.P.I. 22 3 McDonald College 8 2 Canton A.T.C. 13 6 St. Michaels College J 5 Hemingford All-Stars 4 3 Burlington Braves 3 1 Northwood 10 3 North Country C.C. •J 4 St. Michaels College 1 2 Loyola College 3 Burlington Braves 2 2 C.M.R. 7 2 Middlebury 3 4 Troy Cyclones 3 4 Loyola College 11 3 Northwood 4 3 Burlington Braves 8 3 C.M.R. 1 2 St. Lawrence Hockey Club 3 4 St. Lawrence Hockey Club 6 195 BASKETBALL The varsity basketball Cardinals finished their 1972-73 regular season with a record of twelve wins and ten losses and earned an invitation to the National Associa- tion of Intercollegiate Athletics ' District 31 Champion- ship at Dowling College on Long Island. At Dowling the Cardinals suffered a heartbreaking 79-72 loss to Marist College after overcoming a huge early deficit and taking a temporary lead with only minutes remaining in the contest. It was an on-again-off-again season for Coach Norm Law ' s charges, who scored convincing wins over highly ranked Albany and Buffalo in State University of New York Athletic Conference outings, then lost to such considered underdogs as Clarkson College of Tech- nology and the Lakers of Oswego State. The team missed its opportunity for undisputed possession of second place in the SUNY Conference when it came afoul of hot-handed rival Potsdam State with iheir third team Ail-American guard Mike Deane. The Potsdam Bears scored 69 points on the woebegone Cardinals in the first half, connecting on more than 75 per cent of their shots from the floor, and rolled to a 119-87 victory over Plattsburgh which left the two in a tie for second place SUNYAC honors. The Cardi- nals finished the season 6-4 overall against State Univer- sity foes. Junior Jim Perkins, Plattsburgh 6 ' 5 center, led the team in scoring with his average of 18.3 points per game and in rebounding with his total of 275 retrievals. Junior Bob Finney, who joined the Cards after the semester break, scored an average of 15.9 points per game and led the team in free throw conversion per- centage, scoring three times for every four trips to the foul line. Don Verkey, one of only two seniors in the Cardinal lineup, finished the season with a team leading 117 assists and with second place honors for his 17.2 points per game and total of 235 rebounds. The only other senior Cardinal, 6 ' 5 Bill Shoen, finished third among Plattsburgh ' s rebounders with a tolal of 218. 200 THEATRE AND GRAPHICS 201 MEREDITH MONK You ' re A Good Man Charlie Brown House of Blue Leaves Four Poster Death of a Salesman 205 206 207 THE GOOD WOMAN OF SETZUAN 208 210 MARS CUNNINGHAM 211 212 OUR GANG 213 214 Sarab don ' t forget your pillow Sarab and wipe off these tears, you promised to let your hair grow I know you have trouble combing it but you promised — Sarab . . . have you taken your tall heavy book you like it you said and also, remember the record I gave you now wipe off these tears look, you are too little to have your back bent stop panting — wipe off these tears I said you are only a little older than a girl now when you shut the door behind you you ' ll be a Woman no, you ' re not too young you were ten years when you left your mother ' s womb oh, don ' t forget to visit your father and put his books back on the shelve by the way there is a little note-book for you find it in your . . . ah, wipe off your tears Sarab Raghida 215 216 217 True, You are gone.
