1 PRESENTED BY JUNIORS Editor-in-Chief . . Assistant Editor . Business Manager Louise Cosenza . . . Shirley Lux . Lillian Rarre ALMA MATER As the evening shades arc falling, And the day fades into night; Pause a moment in the gloaming To salute the Red and White. Flag of red, our badge of courage With your gleaming letters white; Emblem of our Alma Mater, Guide us onward toward the right. Though our ways may part forever, In our hearts there shall be bright All the golden memories gathered ' Neath the banner Red and White. Flag of red, our badge of courage, With your gleaming letters white Emblem of our Alma Mater, Guide us onward toward the right. the evening shades are falling OUR PRESIDENT He lives a realistic today so that we may live a rich tomorrow 7944 CARDINAL As we move closer to the postwar years, the future of our College becomes of paramount importance to our students, our alumni and faculty. In the war years that have passed and in those which may be ahead, a new world emerges, a world in which through choice and of necessity, the American teacher, as the pioneer of a new era, must play an ever more significant part. Through these trying years our College has kept faith. Large num- bers of our youth have gone to the far reaches of the earth; others serve daily in the schools and communities of our country. Those who are with us have been always eager to do all and more than is required. It is this ideal and this effort that are building our College for the post- war years. Our plans envision an ever greater service to the youth of the State; our hopes extend far beyond the good achievement of the present. To the Junior Class whose Cardinal this is, and to all of our student body, alumni and friends, we extend our gratitude for tasks accom- plished. To them as architects of our College for the postwar years we dedicate the future of our Alma Mater in the full knowledge that today ' s vision will become the realization of tomorrow. Charles C. Ward, President. DEDICATION While on the world ' s war fronts the crescendo of victory rises, we fashion our new tomorrows. We see a world in which man shall master the mys- teries of science and enlighten a tri- umphant generation. Emerging from a sky now overcast, we see a dream of hope for those who follow. May the PSTC of tomorrow fulfill their lives and strengthen their souls with the same intangible qualities that make living rich and beautiful. To this dream we dedicate ourselves and our book, so that future generations may be molded by the same spirit that has formed our being.
