oodles And The Art and Music programs offered fields of learning that no one could receive in other classes, such as history or sci- ence. The Music classes, taught by Miss Martha Kyle and Mr. Travis Beard, met one hour a day to develop their ear for music. It gave students interested in string instruments a chance to learn styles ranging from Beethoven to good ol' Arkansas Bluegrass. Not only did Mrs. .lewell's Art class study basic art, they also went into the study of fine arts, such as oil painting and sculpturing. They worked with all stages of art from water color paint- ings to print making.
