CLASS PROPHECY Ten years havrng lapsed srnce we had seen our classmates we set out on a Journey to see how lrfe was treatrng them Havrng borrowed a Jeep we started on a beautrful mornrng rn the mrddle of May 1968 from Denver Colorado In the hearth of the crty we frnd DENNIS KING workrng at a coke factory He says hrs wages aren t too good but he gets free cokes for hrmself and hrs grrls We are then attracted to a brg poster and are surprrsed to see GERALDINE HOFFMAN as a featured woman wrestler wrth KAREN SANDOZ her most farthful manager Wantrng to enJoy some musrc we turn on statron KMYR and hear Reverend LARRY IRELAND lecturrng on Juvenrle delrnquents He was rnterrupted by a specral bulletrn that the Natronal Debate Team would appear rn the crty the followrng evenrng wrth the key personnel berng KAREN HIGGS vs Maxwell on How to Run a Hrgh School We set out for Salt Lake Crty but were forced to stop for gas and found TYRONE MILLER the operator He rmmedrately rnqurred about the Hay Sprrngs grrls and rnformed us FRANK FISHER who rs a geologrst had Just been through there lookrng for prtchblende Arrrvrng at our destrnatron we frnd JOYCE TIENSVOLD srngrng wrth the Salt Lake Crty Tabernacle Chorr Movrng on to Hollywood we encounter JACK KING playrng stand rn for Tarzan The drrector says because of hrs popularrty wrth the grrls he rs stealrng the show and wrll soon be the real Tarzan He told us of SHARON JENSEN who rs at Laguna Beach modelrng Brkrnr bathrng surts Stopprng at the nearest drug store we frnd SALLY DeWITT who owns a number of them up and down the coast She tells us of PHYLLIS THOMAS whose busrness rs wrrtrng artrcles for the movre stars on how to get drmples wrthout plastrc surgery We move on to Seattle Washrngton where we frnd purple harred nrght club srnger ENID AMENDE rn her latest hrt Too Young to Tango Purple harr you see she got the wrong rrnse On down the street we frnd EMMA SHOUN grvrng ballet lessons We then boarded a Trans World Arrlrner and flew to Florrda to see our old classmate ARLENE BARTH a bare back rrder for Barnum and Barley Crrcus She frnds thrs much more excrtrng than studyrng to be a Dr Whrle walkrng around the grounds we met GORDON HARDIN a lron tamer He rnforms us that JIM CLARK rs at Cape Canaveral sendrng up lrttle whrte mrce rn gurded mrssrles We travel on up the coast to North Carolrna to frnd PATTI KEARNS and CAROLE WASSERBURGER rn an Army hosprtal grvrng specral care and alot of attentron to the Amry guys They say therr most recent panent was TOMMY KOCKROW who supposedly was rn for a toothache but rt was generally thought rt was love srckness for a certarn lrttle brown eyed gal because all he drd was read love letters and smell hrs perfumed handkerchrefs Travelrng strll further we drop rn on the Presrdent to frnd hrs personal secretary rs a former classmate JOYCE LEHMAN Our next stop rs New York and we frnd at Rockefeller Center HELEN TRENNEPOHL as the featured rce skater of the matrnee She attrrbutes thrs talent to her experrences back rn hrgh school days We now take a cross country bus to Chrcago where JIM JONES rs a phychratrrst specralrzrng on teenage datrng problems DUKE LULOW rs now one of the most treasured players of the Chrcago Cardrnals Attendrng a conventron rs LELA OBERMILLER a Home Extensron Agent for some remote communrty of West Vrrgrrna We are trrrng but feel we must stop at Detrort to see BERNARD BOURNE He rs manager of the com plete automobrle rndustry and has an unnamed srdelrne You can well rmagrne he s pretty busy but takes just trme enough off to tell us that JERRY GREENWOOD rs a hot rod racer and one of hrs marn customers because he wrecks them as fast as he races them We start the last leg of our Joumey and frnd that stayrng rn Rushvrlle rs none other than BEVERLEY REED who bought the C 81 L some three years ago She tells us that ELLEN VOSS rs happrly marrred to Kerth and they are dorng a frne Job of rarsrng track stars and trombone players Lastly we swrng down to R H S and get there just rn tune for a Natronal School Assembly program and are fortunate enough to see JOYCE ARTHUR rn her terrrfrc brcyclrng act We have thus had a successful trrp of seerng our old classmates and we hope they do as well rn the future as they have rn the frrst ten years out of R H S Pattr Kearns 20 1 1 1 l 1 1 ' ' . , . . . - 1 - 11 f 11 'x ' - - 11 11 - - . , .
