CMJ ,!47!5f0ry 0 1945 ln September 1941 the graduatrng class of 1945 began 11S long four year trek through Rule Irllgh School Aware of tne hard work rn store for us we resolved to do our best to make our hrgh school career a successful one As we frnrshed our sophomore year nothrng of much rmportanc had happened except for the fact that half our goal had been reached Only two more years remarned for us here at Rule and those promrsed to be the most frurt ful ones Upon entertng our Junror year we began tak mg a brg part rn the act1v1t1es of the s hool FIFS1 we sponsored a ve y successful amateur hour whlch uncovered a lot of hrdden talent Sam Howell and I Wrll Taylor served as mas ters of cerernony and they too showed talent as announcers Then rn the early sprmg we presented the play Mamas Baby Boy wlth the followrng people rn the cast Charles Pate Mary Benton Norma Maxey Dorothy Reese Brlly Laugherty Mary 'Whaley luanrta Mrller and I Wrll Taylor Thls play was a brg suc cess and all who saw rt really emoyed rt The lun1orSer11or banquet was held at the S CS W Cafeterra on Saturday nrght May 6 B111 Bradley our class presldent served as toastmaster On the banquet program was a llttle qulz featurlng I Wrll Taylor as Professor Knowrtall Everyone got a lot of laughs out of that Durlng the last week of school we had our class outrng at Ch1lhowee Park At the outrng We skated bowled played softball and then had our prcmc dmner All of us had a wonderful trme Enterxng our senror year we could hardly realrze that our stay at Rule 1-lrgh was almost over The followlng people were elected as our class offlcers Charles Pate presldent I Wrll Taylor vrce presrdent luamta Mlller secretary and Raymond lohnston treasurer The 12A Group elected B111 Padgett presrdent Paul Bean secretary and treasurer The electron of our annual staff was held rn mrd November Charles Pate was elected edl tor wrth Raymond Iohnston and Betty Hays as assrstant edrtors We hope that thrs annual wrll be one of the best rn the schools hrstory On November 21 1n gmgham dresses or skrrts overalls and flannel shlrts we met 1n the gymnaslum for a barn party All had a lolly good t1me partrcrpatxng IH contests and games In early December the cand1dates for Mr and Mlss Rule Hrgh were nomrnated In the electlon followmg loel Huffaker was elected Mr Rule Hrgh and Norma Maxey Mrss Rule 1-lrgh As semors we have many thlngs yet to look forward to Some of them are the class play the Iunlor Sen1or banquet the Sen1or banquet the Sen1or outrng class nrght exerctses the baccalaureate sermon and commencement ex ercrses We the Sen1ors of Rule Hrgh School hate to lea IG our pr1nc1pal our teachers and the many act1v11es rn Whrch we are a part Although we reallze that we are tak1ng an essentlal step rn the long road of l1fe we are leavlng Rule wrth sad and hea vy hearts We have learned rnnumerable thrngs whrch have better prepared us to go out and make our way 1n the world As we leave and go out 1n thls war strrcken world we pray that peace and a better day w1ll come soon so that all the future graduatlng classes of Rule can go out Wllh a peaceful future before them ' I ' ' ' ' , ' ' I I ' I - I I . 9 I . ,- u ' I I . , I Y' - f 1 I 1 . 1 , I I i Iune Chapman, Sam Howell, Helen Brown, f . - 3 , . .
