PATRIOTISM It was a beautlful picture to behold the Senior Class of Royerton on the morning of September 5, 1947, as they stood at the fcot of the colossal Statue of Liberty on Bedloe's Island, New York Harbor. Many of the members of the class may never have this opportunity again. However, may each boy and each girl resolve to live a life endeavoring to spread liberty, justice, and peace to all mankind. Let us hope that it will .be possible for us to realize the meaning of what the father of one of the Senior boys meant when he said to his son, You may have seen the Statue of Liberty, but I tell you son, it meant more to me than anything' in all the world when I returned from World War I. Do we Americans really appreciate our freedom? We sincerely hope all the rest of you boys and girls of Royerton may have this grand privilege.

JUNIOR JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY In the latter part of the year 1937, an inter- esting first grade class was on its way to acquire an education through school. Starting to schgol in the East building they were transferred shortly to a new and bigger building which they are now attending. Those remaining in the junior class are the following: Robert Strahan, Lois Stradling, Don Riggin, Marjorie Kiger, Patty Rowland, Wayne Morris, Roberta Dougan, Carl Yohey, George Har- ley, Jo Ann Nelson, Richard Hedges, Eleanor Jen- kins, Clyde Thornburg, Sue Mills, Everett O'Dell, Jane Brand, and Joan Brand, Paul Umbarger. and Bob Huffman, who have gone through a lot together the past ten years. They have been working hard this year: car- nival. play, and ice cream sales, to secure funds for the Senior trip, to which they are all looking forward. 4.1 CLASS OFFICERS AND SPONSORS First Row-Pat Tooley.
