OFF TO A GOOD START As we started the season this year very slow, we struggled and struggled some more. But as the season came closer to an end, I saw we had improved, said Coach Preuss. Those of us who were spectators at the games feel the Freshmen are off to a good start , and will add a great deal to the basketball teams in the fu- ture years at Royall. CONFERENCE CHAMPS The varsity basketball team took the Senic Central Bluff championship. The season was very good with a conference record of 14-0, and first time ever undefeated in the conference. The over all record 17-2 ties one of the records at Royall. The guys also tied the longest winning streak ever at Royall of 16-0. The final statistics show a well bal- anced scoring effort by the team with four of the five starters aver- aging ten or more points a game. Kelly Vieth averaged 15.3, next Dave Baisden 11.6, Terry Schmidt 10.0, Bruce E. Miller 9.7, Mike Hodulik 7.6. Again Kelly Vieth had the highest shooting percent- age of .558. The team's shooting percentage was .494. In rebounds defensively Bruce E. Miller had 97 and offensively Kelly Vieth had 5. Terry Schmidt had the most assists with 86.
