Kratky, another future super- star. This year's most valuable player was junior Dave Halverson. He worked hard all year. His work paid off in the end. He took first at the Royall Invitational and ended his season on a winning streak with first in conference for the 185 lb. weight class. Dave had the most team points and he broke the school record by five seconds, pinning his Onalaska man in eight seconds. The team co-captains were Joe Dutton and Terry Madden. Duane Roscovious had the most pins. The varsity squad consisted of two seniors, five juniors, three sophomores, and three freshmen. Coach DeLong commented about next year, Things will be look- ing better next year since we're only losing two seniors and at least half a dozen of our wrestlers are going to wrestling camp. This year we were lucky, we end- ed the the season with only one serious injury. Steve Buchholz suffered from a broken collar bone. 27

OFF TO A GOOD START As we started the season this year very slow, we struggled and struggled some more. But as the season came closer to an end, I saw we had improved, said Coach Preuss. Those of us who were spectators at the games feel the Freshmen are off to a good start , and will add a great deal to the basketball teams in the fu- ture years at Royall.
