The first guarter saw' the first stringers play for only long enough to pick up a two-TD margin-Sanchez making one standing up after Stevens returned a Tiger punt to Laredo's 365 and Sharpe getting the second after a Laredo punt rolled out on the Tiger 39. Dueitt's first conversion was good. Then Groom fell on a Tiger fumble on their 13 and Dolan carried over three plays later. Dueitt's Conversion was good. The second guarter opened as Falcon returned a Tiger punt to the Laredo 30. Five plays and three penalties later Dolan went over for his second score of the game. Dueitt's kick was blocked. ln the third guarter the Tigers showed a little more fire and set up a TD oftheir own, sparked by iump passes from Gongalez to lbarra. 4 The fourth guarter saw the Tigers score on apass lateral play. Miller scored its final touchdown on a drive from their l8. Laurence made 30 on five tries and Hansen made 12 on three. Laurence then carried over from the l, and Dueitt made his final kick a good one. The Bucs ran wild at Buc Stadium on November 6, scoring their first District 6AAAA victory before 6,000 in the rain, and defeating the Austin Maroons, 20-7. ln the first guarter, backed up to their 27 after halting an Austin drive,the Bucs picked up 8 yards and then Shugart broke loose with a 65-yard run for a score. Dueitt kicked the PAT with only four minutes gone. The second guarter saw Henderson recover an Austin fumble on their 44. Perales passed to Stevens for I4 and then went around right end to the Austin six. An offsides penalty moved to the T and Shugart again went over for the SCOTG- Dueitt's kick was again good. Austin's tally was al- most a gift, as the Maroon's Peterson intercepted a Perales- to- Stevens pass and went 40 yards for the TD-Bernal kick- ing the PAT. ln the third guarter a 72-yard drive highlighted by a l3- yard run by Shugart, a 26-yard run by Laurence, and an T8- yqrd pass from Perales to Meharg put the ball on the Austin 2. Laurence hit right guard for the tally and the scoring was over. The fourth guarter was all but a minute gone when the Bucs drove to the eight, but Shugart fumbled and Austin re- covered. Lindseyintercepted an Austin pass and went to the 25. Miller's Bucs had their district hopes virtually shot full of holes by an alert Brockenridge team in Alamo Stadium in Son Antonio on November 19. The first guarter saw Miller recover on Eagle fumble On the opening kickoff and promptly lose the ball the some way on their first play. After holding Brock twice Miller gave the Eagles a score as Thompkins of Brock intercepted a Perales pass and returned it to the Buc 35 and Johnson went all the way. Early in the second guarter Miller threatened as Dueitt broke around right end from the Brock 22 and went across, but the ploy was killed by an offsides penalty. Brock punted to the one foot line and Shugart fumbled Dueitt's handoff. Brock recovered for another Eagle tally. ln the third guarter Brack's Fuquay blocked Dueitt's kick on Miller's 30 and ran it to the li. McCarty picked up four and Fuquoy got the lost seven for the third Brock score. The fourth guarter saw the Bucs drive 40 yards to their first TD with perales scoring from the 3. Dueitt converted. Two long runs gave the San Antonians their last score, and Miller ended the scoring late in the the game when James Moore recovered a Brock fumble and set up the lost score- Perales sneaking over again from the 3. Q - I Y ' GQ9nl'h. Nick Perales hands off to Bruce Shugart, the Bucs leading scorer.
