Presents The 1982 Record The Senior Class of Roxbury Central School Dedication Mr. Harvey Mervis In appreciation of all that he has done for us — we, the class of 1982, wish to dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Harvey Mervis. From coaching some of us to teaching us (with his witty humor), Mr. Mer- vis has been an important part of our high school lives. 2 Robert F. Prout Superintendent Schools This yearbook is one of the final class projects of the class of 1982. As you near the end of your high school years some of you may feel a real glow of accomplishment, some an equally satisfying sense of relief, and some of you may even be a bit uncertain about what lies ahead. Life is a series of progressions and you have completed an important phase. The graduation ceremony and the diploma you will receive will tell the world you are ready to go ahead to the next step in your life. After graduation, you will go into a bigger world, where there are more people to know, more difficult jobs to do, more places to see, more experiences to encounter. The legendary old baseball pitcher, Satchel Paige, once counseled his public in these words: “Don’t look back, someone might be gaining on you.” I would like to amend that advice somewhat. Don’t be afraid to look back; but try to look ahead with the advantage of past experience. Your ultimate success depends largely upon your recognition of your own aspirations and abilities. Build upon this recognition and enforce your capabilities with the strong character that has exemplified the Class of 1982. Sincere wishes Robert F.
