V Vi The Class of 1972 Roxbury Central School Presents THE RECORD Dedication MR. PETER PARNELL We theclass of 1972 wish todedicateouryearbook toa man who has served R.C.S. forthe past 17 years and who has been our home room advisor for the past three years. Mr. Parnell has served above and beyond the call of duty. His work in school doesn't end when his classes are finished. He gives this time to print and type the newsletter each week which serves asa link between school and community. Whenever a bulletin or program is needed Mr. Parnell is always more than willing to help. In the past three years, Mr. Parnell has helped and in- structed us in putting on the Jr. Prom, Spaghetti Supper, and other activities. He has also served as a helping hand in this record. So on behalf of the students of Roxbury Central School and the Community, we say Thank you. In Memoriam The students, faculty, community, and church will long remember the good deeds and works of Mrs. Lois Baker. Mrs. Baker served Roxbury Central School for twelve years first as secretary to the Princi- pal and then as Secretary to the Guidance Counselor. Whatever the problem Mrs. Baker would try to find the answer for us through her efficient and well kept records. She also gave to her community be serving as a active member of the W.S.C.S. and she gave her musical talents so that others could enjoy it. We will always remember Mrs. Baker as our friend and helper who had a smile when the going was rough for her. ADMINISTRATION Principals Message The request to contribute something in the way of a farewell message to the class of 1972 brings a retrospect of other classes who have been graduated a reverie of those who will follow as well as a review of the accomplishments of the present class. Classes like individuals have personalities and hence, no two are alike. Each has its strengths and weaknesses, its successes and failures. Each succeeding class has had and will have larger opportunities and so more must be expected of them. But each class as a personality leaves its imprint, and to me the Class of 1972 has contributed many unusually fine things to the development of Roxbury Cen- tral School. Courage, good sportmanship, a sense of justice and fair play to an outstanding degree; and unusual spirit of loyalty to each other and the school; the absence of dominating or divided groups; a willingness to cooperate and work with the faculty; a deep sense of responsibility, and a desire to be of service. These are attributes of the Class of '72 that will help to shape future classes. I hope that you also recall this year for other reasons - new friendships formed, new ideas and insights that will make your life more significant to you and others, new satisfaction from work well done, new confidence in your ability to meet your personal problems. I can wishfor the members of the class nobetterfortune than to continue togrow and meet life in the same spirit as they have in the past. Robert F. She will attend our school for one year and stay with some Rotary families in Roxbury. Anette is 18, and a member of our Senior Class. She has adjusted very well to our school and has made many new friends. After graduation in her home country, Anette hopes to attend Medical School to become a doctor.
