Jrop£es(y Let us turn the pages of Roxbury Central School into the future, stopping in the year 1980. Well, it looks as though the graduates of 1970 did very well for themselves, with the exception of George Brown and Ralph Needham, who 1 understand have finally been expelled from R. C.S. for having a still in their lockers. Let's see, first in command, we have Marty Finch as principal, and without his devoted secretary Janis Moorehe would be completely lost. Acting as Vice Principal is Wayne Baer, and the way 1 understand it, the only reason he isn't principal is that his secretary, Peggy George, isn't able to read her own shorthand, but hang in there, Peggy, maybe some day you'll be able to write! Well, that's the high command, and what a job they're doing; but the person respon- sible for such good relations between students and the establishment is our beloved David Maplestone who when asked by Principal Finch to give up kangaroo hunting and take a job as student counselor, sold everything except a kangaroo suit, and came a-hopping. Our coaching job is handled by Jim Davies. He didn't have such a good season in blind man's bluff, due to the fact that the two best players fell into the creek and broke their legs. But he expects to have a championship team this season in tic-tac-toe! And who do we have in command of the girls' phys. ed. , none other than our own Mary M., and we're proud to say that any girl in her classes can out-wrestle anyone from the boys' class. Teaching bookkeeping we have Joe I. , who is doing a great job except he doesn't know a debit from a credit, but that doesn't matter as long as they learn to add. For Home Ec. we have Kathy Ballard; you should see the psychedelic cheerleading suitsher class made. Steve Gile is doing a great job in shop. His students built him a computer so he can understand French. Janice Slauson is teaching French and you should hear those kids, maybe you shouldn't! Donald Rowe is teaching English, and I understand that his students are reading and acting out the play HAIR. Lori Taylor is teaching Special Ed. and right now her students are learning how to count sideways. Lela Shultis is teaching Kindergarten and is doing a fine job. The kids know how to read and write and play house! And in Driver Ed. we have Maria S. teach- ing our kids safe driving habits. Her first period class set a new speed record for going around the corner towards the Post Office. Keep up the good work, Maria. With this new age, Principal Finch and Vice Principal Baer decided to start some new classes. The most important class is how to smoke tobacco. For this job we have Jerry M. who comes up here during the winter when business is slow on his tobacco plantation and teaches the kids why they should not take up smoking. Yeah Jerry! Another important class is hypnotism. In this class Harold Davis teaches thekidshow to relax, and study for tests.
