Then the rwanging sound of rhe bell echos through rhe corridors, signaling rhe beginning of rhe Five Minute Rush The halls suddenly inflate with mosses of people; the corridors continue to fill, ready to burst at a second ' s notice Doors spring open, more and more people ore odding to the crowd, contributing to the hysterical frenzy Lockers svk ' ing open and slom shut Some of the less fortunote, unable to open theirs, go into fits and tontrums screaming and yelling — taking out their frustrations on rhe locker, hoping it would open this time. The Five Minute fXush is at Its acme When the locker finally decides to open, the tizzicol student quickly grabs the first book he sees — hoping that it be the right one — ond then he darts off into the massive web of insanity once more This web camifies in every direction; its components rant and rave, push and shove their woy through the possages — the Five Minute Rush approaches rhe home strerch The crowd slowly begins to thin down, dwindling to but o few disenchanted souls, most of whom have not yet realized that rime is moving foster than they ore.
