The second year of Girls ' Track was very successful. Although the team was very young, mostly freshmen and sophomores, they proved to be very aggressive and talented. The team was undefeated in pre-season meets and finished well in the league. There were several outstanding athletes, among these are Daria Edwards and Jackie Gonzalez. Others who showed well for Rowland were Tig Mature and Trix Petievich, sprinters; Susanna Riley, Stephanie Price, and Cathy Allen, distance runners; and Susan Gearrity, an excellent shot putter. 1 Heidi Vonderpool makes jumping hurdles look easy. 2.
