Vocational Karen Schumacker is this year ' s winner of the Vocational Arts award. Karen, a mid-ternn gra- duate, has attended Rowland schools all her life. She has tak- en a variety of business and vocational classes, maintain- ing a 3.92 GPA in high school. Karen is very active in church work and is currently attending MSAC where she is majoring in business. She is planning on be- ing married at the end of sum- mer. Liberal Arts This year ' s Liberal Arts award winner is Colleen Sechrest. Col- leen, who has attended Row- land schools all her life, has maintained a 3.86 GPA during high school, Colleen, who has taken all college prep classes, is also working towards college credit by taking AP history, AP English, and Calculus. In her ju- nior year she received awards in Honors Biology and English Honors. She stated that English and science were her favorite courses. Colleen presently lives with her family, which includes two sisters— Jennifer, 11 and Laura 18. Colleen plans to at- tend the University of California at Irvine and major in medicine. Music This year ' s Music award win- ner is Ann LeFay. She has at- tended Rowland schools and has been active in the music programs. She has been a member of the marching band all four years of high school and has been the drum major during her junior and senior director of the band this year. Ann has won numerous awards for her drum major work both in parades and solo competi- tion. Ann plans to go on to school to become a Dental Hygienist or a Lab Techni- cian. She also wants to con- tinue to pursue her interest in music. Math Science The Math Science award win- ner is Mary Dunn. Mary has been an outstanding student all through school. She has already won an award in chemistry and is currently maintaining a 3.97 GPA Her classes at school are all college prep, which include three AP classes for which she hopes to receive college credits. Mary has been very active in CSF and the Science- Field Club. She also enjoys sports and played on the Varsity Volleyball team. Mary ' s family include a brother, 29, and a sister Kerry, 15. She plans on a career in the field of science.

Scott Jones Scott Jones has been on the Var- sity Basketball team for three years. His achievements include All League 1st Team, 2 years, All San Gabriel Valley Team, All C.I.F. Team, and Most Valuable Player award. Scott also enjoys surfing, skiing, and working out. He plans on at- tending a four college where he will major in business and continue his basketball career. Kurt Oshima Kurt Oshima has been ac- tive in gymnastics all four years of high school. He was voted Most Valuable Player two years and was Sierra League Champion in All Around and Highbor, Kurt enjoys judo, playing the piano, ana going camping. He will be attending Stan- ford University in the fall, ma- joring in business. While there he will continue his gymnas- tics. ' ■ Diane Looker Diane Looker has been very active and won many awards in athletics. She was voted Most Valuable Player in tennis and Softball. She has also been named on the San Gabriel Val- ley 1st Team and All GIF 2nd Team for basketball and the All League 1st Team for softball. Diane plans to attend Gal Poly, Pomona on a basketball acho- larship, majoring in Business. ■ i Derek Rice Derek Rice has played on the Wo- terpolo team for three years. He has been on the First Team All League twice, voted the Most Valuable Player twice, and has been placed in the Hall of Fame. He plans to at- tend UG Irvine in the fall, majoring in Bio-Sciences. He hopes to qualify for the U.S. Woterpolo team and play in the 1984 Olympics, Chris Lindblom Ghris Lindblom has received many awards for her athletic ability. In vol- leyball she placed on All League 1st Team four years and was Most Valu- able Player in 1979, In basketball she was All League 1st Team four years and on the All San Gabriel Valley 1st Team two years. Ghris enjoys all sports and music. She plans to at- tend Golorodo State on an athletic scholarship. She will be majoring in Forestry.
