And so has the mill. "Gurgle: goes the mill-wheel, Shall we go a-sailing, "Cluck" clucks the heng Or shall we take a. ride, And it's O for a pretty girl Or dream the afternoon away To kiss in the glen. Here, side by side? Sing a song of Autumn, Sing a song of Winter, The world is going backg The world stops deadg They glean in the corn-field, Under snowy coverlid And stamp on the stack. Flowers lie abed. Our boy, Charlie, There's hunting for the young ones Tall, strong, and light: And Wine fOI' the Old, He shoots all the day And a sexton in the churchyard And dances all the night. Digging in the cold. - -Cosmo Monkhouse C1 840-19012- 'Unfume36 Sp' ' - ,Cluiznnaa This 1960 ELK is dedicated with pleasure to our very good friend and principal, Mr. James K. Clark. The following poem, written by Mrs. Edna Johnson, con- tains the sentiments of the entire staff. THE SEASONS PASS He thinks back on the years that he's been here The plans he's made, the friends he's had. The places dear, both far and near That he has gone to accomplish things. The boys and girls who have come and gone Taking with them, memories of him. And this, our school for days of fun As well as for work variously clone. He looks ahead to busy years Among the young folks of our land And crushes to earth his transient fears That aught will mar his rosy dreams. He's grown in stature day by day By meeting his trials and mastering them And now he sees in gay display, The losses and gains of future times. "The pine trees stand so lonely In the North where the high winds blow They sleep: and the Whitest blanket Wraps them in ice and snow. " A H2 --Heinrich Hiene-- U 1 SEASONS High School. endeavors . The seasons depicted in this book, are mindful of the cycle of growth and development that your minds and bodies undergo during the cycle of learning here at Round Valley The climate of learning is created by your teachers so that you may grow mentally and acquire those parts of our culture necessary to bridge the gap to a brighter future for you, for our country and our world. I congratulate you, Seniors of Round Valley High School, for working to the end of the season and wish you every success as you seek further training or choose new James K. Those of us who are graduating, will also long remember the obstacles that we have had to overcome in the development of personality and character--obstacles that would not have been surmounted without the encouragement of our teachers. I urge you underclassrnen to profit from the many opportunities which high school offers.
