FBIDM THE SENIIIB CLASS 0F l962 Our days at Fremont Ross have finally gone by. We have so many memories, and by a vast mar- gin, the good outnumber the bad. I remember when the iunior and senior high schools were combined. We were the first class to reign as mighty freshmen when the schools were separated. There were so many things to organ- ize! I never knew how much we depended on the older students until then. Along with responsibilities, our freshman year held a lot of enioyment. Remember how we used to look forward to noon dances, and the excitement of putting out the first real iunior high page for the Chatter? Then to Ross Senior High-how huge the building seemed to us! I never could find my way through the lengthy corridors, nor understand how the rooms were numbered. Our Sophomore year we held our traditional banquet, along with our literary magazine, Sophomore Signposts. Remember when we served for our first prom, or went for the first time with a date? Junior year held many memories. I especially remember prom committee, decorating for Hea- venly Hawaii. Then came our first real prom. There was an uncomparable thrill amid the exotic at- mosphere of palm trees and the volcano. And will we ever forget our Junior Class Play, Honor Bright? The year flew, and suddenly we were seniors! I remember first of all our Beat Sandusky game. Our last football game brought more seniors than ever before. The after-game dance was in our honor -a perfect climax to a hard fought season. Will we ever forget our Senior Class Play? We were pioneers, having three one-act plays in- stead of the usual three-act. High Window, The Glorified Brat, and Gallant Lady won a good and well-deserved response. The next thing I remember is the long and careful planning of our Senior Class Assembly. You knew, too, that we had really enioyed working toward it. How school spirit soared when some classmates formed a pep band! Our basketball team played a fine, hard season. Ross swimmers broke all but very few speed records during their season. Wrest- ling, baseball, cross country, golf, track, and tennis truly showed the determination of our Little Giants. l'lI always remember Youth Government Day after the fine assembly and election. I remember the wonderful iob of our band and the concerts from our A Cappella Choir. There were many other activities which we will never forget. Now here we are, ready to face the world. Graduation is not the ending, but the beginning of our lives. Graduation exercises have instilled in us the desire to aspire to higher and finer horizons. We hope that we shall be a credit to you, Ross High School. All the worId's a stage, and all the men and women merely players. I think I know what Shakespeare meant. And you have served as an excellent stage for us, dear Ross. Now the curtain is closing on my high school scene, a scene that has etched an indelible mark on my life. And though the lighting seemed sometimes dim, it shone brightly most of the time. This same light will cast a beacon far down the pathway of our lives. Thank you for your kindness, your responsibilities, and most of all your opportunities. And even though our days as students here have finally drawn themselves to a close, it will never be Good-bye, only, Until we meet again .........
