senior closs history Dear Roseville High School: Four years of close contact has taught the senior class of 1955 a great deal about getting along with each other. In fact, it's been such an experience that all of us will never forget you for it. In 1951, we began to work together when we elected our class officers for the freshman year. Norman Nigbor took his place as class president, assisted by Tony Delia, vice presidentg Pat Bisby, treasurerg and Jeanette Bresso as secretary. We all recall the trip to Belle Isle! Everyone who dared a canoe ride climbed out of the water laughing and dripping wet! That day and our class party at the Recreation Hall were our two most important events that year. The year, 1952, soon rolled around. It was then that we choose Betty Schuchardt as president of our sophomore class. Al Powell was our vice president, Gary Bran- cik, secretary, and Alice Ingles, treasurer. That was the year that everyone had so much fun on the hayride at Knack's Stables. There was something, however, that we didn't see that year, that you saw only too well. A door which had opened for many was beginning to open a crack for us. On that door the word Future was plainly inscribed. Our junior year was everything we wanted. Bill Klenk made us all proud when he accepted his election as class president. Don Coonfer stood next to him as vice president and Shirley LaBeau was secretary, while Phyllis DeNardo handled our treasury situation for us. We had our first dance, Harmony Hop. It was enjoyable working and planning a successful dance together. We had our first class play too! House for Sale, Haunted was our choice. The cast made us as proud as we could be. But a more important memory was the banquet we gave for the Seniors of 1954. That was when we realized how wonderful it was to be together. That door had opened a little wider and you saw that too, didn't you? Now we were seniors! Everything was in a hustle. John Dwyer was the chosen one to become class president, Jack Ranstadler, vice president, Marlene Miller, secretary, and Helen Moore, treasurer. Soon there were Christmas cards to sell, dances to give, our class play, Dear Ruth, a spaghetti dinner, our greatly anticipated class trip, the prom, and suddenly we saw graduation day approaching. Now we see what you have seen all along, Roseville High. A huge door stands open before us, and on it reads Future. We hate to step through it in a way because when it closes we'll be leaving you behind. But we'll still have our memories and no one will ever take them from The Class of 1955 7
