82!Band ANTHER BAN U ITY AND H RD WQRK WIN AWARDS The band is deservedly one of the most prestigious groups on campus. Dedication and practice are prerequisites. constantly active, the band promotes spirit at Pep Rallies, football games, and basketball games. They perform in the annual Christmas Concert, for which they me- ticulously prepare, refine, and perfect. The band has won many awards at parades and band reviews, This year's talented group competed at Rowland Heights placing first, while the Auxilliary Ranks placed first. The band also competed at Lester Oaks placing first, and the Tall Flags also placed first. The band also competes at National City. As always. one of the band highlights was competing in the prestigious West Arcadia Band Review. The band director is Mr. John Hensley. Mrs. Lanita Buck is the behind the scenes, everpatient Band Mother. Because its members spend much time together, the group is closely knit.
