PIRIT GROUPS DEVOTE TIME The Rosemead High Tall Flags team marched proud through many competi- tions. Led by captain Linda Gonzales, they did very well. placing Ist at Rowland Heights and also at Lester Oaks. At the prestigious West Arcadia Band Review, they placed 3rd out of I7 tall flags teams, with their precision marching. The tall flag team continued improving and their dedi- cation to working hard was shown by their placings in competition. Being a Songleader to some is a girls dream. but ask any of the songleaders and they'll tell you its not all fun and glamour. Before school even started for some, the song- Ieaders have already spent half their sum- mer vacation practicing. Led by their cap- tain Kerri Brown, they are kept busy practic- ing for games, pep rallies and competitions. The song squad was also a part of the tall flag unit during the parades their hard work was appreciated by the Rosemead Tall Flag unit. Members of Song were: Top Row, Laura LaPiana, llda Jimenez. Nx! .7 HEERLE DER RDUSE E THLISIASM V. With lots of hard work and practice. the Rosemead Varsity Cheerleaders were full of spirit. Going to camp made this year a lot easier, with learning new routines and becom- ing close to teamates. The annual Big R assembly proved to be very successful because students partici- pated in events. Varsity Cheer and Patty Panther CYumi Watanabej made this year very rewarding by going to competition at various schools. Cheer also does extra ac- tivities, such as car washes and can- dy sales. Despite of all the hard work they put in, all nine girls agree that cheerleading is an experience they wouldn't want to miss on. When the crowd cheers along rais- ing the spirit high. the Rosemead Varsity Cheer realized how proud they were to keep the Panther spirit alive. Members of the Varsity Cheer were: Patty Panther Yumi Watanabe, Second Row: Robyn Strauss. Antoinette Bourgel. Rosalee Villalobos. Penny Marquis. Stacy Robinsin.
