66fClubs TUDENTS coNvENE Fon I TELLE TU LE LIGHTE ME T The Academic Decathlon Team sacri- ficed many hours in order to prepare for the competition. There were ten subjects which included science, math, econom- ics, language, literature, fine arts, histo- ry. speech, a novel, and a superquiz. At the competition in November, the team did very well, even though it was handi- capped by the last minute loss of one member. Some of their activities includ- ed visits to art museums, colleges, and the U.S.C. Oceangraphic Institute on Catalina, and a trip to the East Coast. The Computer Club participated in a va- riety of computer activities. They wrote computer Christmas carols and contri- buted canned food to needy families. The highlight of the year was when Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas came to speak to the club on the topic of High Technology in Hollywood. The California Scholarship Federation is one of the academic societies on cam- pus. lt's purpose is encouraging further education for highly qualified students. ' , -f K .
