This year the RHS Hi-Y, sponsored by Mr. Donald Fox, held their weekly meetings in Room 92 on Thursday mornings. Under the leadership of both semester presidents, Earl Durham and Rod Schreck- ler, the boys did such things as selling programs at football games ut and participating in the clean campus campaigns. They are part of the world affairs class and hold their weekly meetings each Wednesday during class time. The club is divided into two chapters: Alpha and Beta. The office of mayor was held by Sherry Hammoch lAlphal and Barbara Caplette lBetal first semester, and Pat Murphy lAlphal and Dorella Frye lBetal second semester. 1 llembers of Campus Christians often had the op- iortunity to have interesting and informative peakers at their weekly meetings. ekcellent program planned for its members at their lunch time meet- ings. The program included many fine speakers of all faiths who were heard throughout the year at the meetings. Taking charge first lunch was Gary Stahl, president both semesters and Mickey Brunson, vice-president, at second lunch. For the Variety Show, Campus Christians did a pantomine of Stan Freberg's record, Green Christmas, which showed how commercialized Christmas had be- come. This year's appearance was the first the club has ever made in a Variety Show. Doing a wonderful iob as club sponsor was Mr. Carter Dennis. The Campus Christians this year were, Row 1: L. Croteau, J. Students probably know the club as the one which sponsored the showing of the Mr. Magoo cartoons and other films about things such as cars, electronics during the lunch periods. Also of much enioyment to the student body was the playing of records during lunch. They boys studied electronics and its re- lationship to radio and television, how they operate, are made, and how they are repaired. At the time of this writing Radio Club was trying to obtain a Ham Operator's License for RHS. This license re- quires much effort to obtain and is held in high regard by those who have one. Members of Key Club take time out from their usual club meeting to share a joke. The Key Club has been especially active this year. They started off the year by combining with Hi-Y and selling programs at the foot- ball games. Every Thursday afternoon they sent two bowling teams to the league games in bowling. Also on Thursdays two boys at- WM wggxqm M tended meetings of the local Kiwanis Club. Each year the RHS Key V-Msfcge . '41-s Club takes several field trips to local industry and tour their premises. In April Key Club sponsored their annual scholarship drive in which the boys go door to door asking for donations to enable them to attain their goal of 5500. This money is given a qualified Senior who has been selected by the counselors and the Parent Teachers Association Board. Those participating in Key Club this year were, Row 'l: R. Grover, J. Young, M. Baxter, D. Groven, V. Klein. Row 3: D, Sparrowk, C. Russell, J. Barnes, D. Benge, C. Torske, B. Leone, J. Krall, Mrs. Tackett. On December ll, 1959, Orchesis, the girls' dance club, was awarded a trophy for the outstanding sportsmanship they showed in pre- paring for the Variety Show. During the second semester the girls worked very hard practicing for the assembly which they presented before the student body early in the spring. The clubs first and second semester presidents were Julie Bowman, and Irene Lasswell, and the sponsors were Mrs. Tackett and Mrs. Zide. During All Nations Week Orchesis sold chances for a ielly bean guessing con- test in order to earn money fo rthe foreign exchange students which we hope to have here next year.
