Krantz, P. Tumanello. GEMS' Gjie-ei This year the Girls' Glee partici- pated in the Thanksgiving As- sembly and sang in the annual Spring Festival at Montebello. The first semester president was Sally Ciotta, and second semes- ter president was Sandy Em- mert. GMS' Chorus This year the Girls' Chorus was composed of forty-eight girls. The first semester president was Nancy Bender, and the second semester president was Margar- et Gonzales. Activities they participated in in- cluded: the Spring Festival at Burbank. 63

Hould- ridge, S. Seabolt. Row 2: Miss Kleekamp, D. Smith, E, Hernandez, M. Scales, L. Croteau, and D. Boothe. Meidviigels This year the Madrigal Singers performed at many P.T.A. meet- ings, the Christmas Assembly, and for a Kiwanis Installation Dinner. They also did very well at the Solo and Ensemble Fes- tival at Los Angeles State Col- lege. Mews 63-llee This year one of the accomplish- ments of the Men's Glee was performing in the Christmas as- sembly. Although they per- formed only a few times public- ly, they strived for self-improve- ment in the field of music. Sunbeems The Sunbearns were very active this year. Their main achieve- ment was winning the Curtain Act trophy at the Variety Show. They also sang at the Solo and Ensemble Festival at Los An- geles State College.

fill Xa- JOE PRIMROSE President, First Semester l lt DOUG SMITH President, Second Semester fx Sei pewter about Under the direction of Miss Kleekamp, the A Cap- pella Choir accomplished rnuch to bring recognition to RHS this year. On October 26, 1959 they sang for the Rosemead High P.T.A. and on November 19, with the combined choirs of Arroyo and El Monte High Schools at a meeting of the Los Angeles Board of Education. On February first of the new year our A Cappella Choir again sang with the combined choirs of Arroyo and El Monte, but this time at the Los Angeles Colliseum tor the torch- lighting ceremony of the 1960 Winter Olympics. ln May they helped present the annual Spring Sing here at Rosemead, and the Choir performed at a Vocal Festival at Chapman College. Along with their many other activities the A Cappella Choir also found time to do extensive community public relations work.
