Wishbone Wishbone Wiggle Couple, Jim Grice and Corine Thompson. The girls' only chance to ask Their favorite fel- lows To a dance this year came on November 25, when the Girls' League sponsored their an- nual Thanksgiving Dance. The Wishbone Wig- gle was held in our gym from 8:00-11:00 p.m. with music supplied by The Continentals. The couples attending participated in several novelty dances including the Bunny Hop and the Mexi- can Hat Dance. The Wishbone Wiggle Couple was: Senior, Jim Grice and Sophomore, Corine Thompson. Wiggle Storybook Park in Alhambra was the scene ot this year's Valentine Dance on February 13, 1960. One hundred and seventy-tour couples attended and danced to the dreamy music ot The Tempos. Cupid's Holiday, as the dance was called, was co-sponsored by Pantheresses and Hi-Y. The climax of the even- ing was the drawing to determine Cupid's Couple who were Judy Griswold and Richard Mitchell. 3 Q Q I 'gd Chosen as Cupid's Couple at the Cupid's Holiday dance were Judy Q S j lj Griswold and Richard Mitchel.

Quittsteinding Dveimei Sirudients Connie Ensign so ei si Each year the Drama Department selects two students who, during their years at Rosemead High School, have dis- played outstanding interest and enthusi- asm by participation in o-ur drama pro- ductions. In choosing the winners, this year, Connie Ensign and Doug Smith, special consideration was given, not necessarily to acting ability, but to in- terest in many ot the behind-the-scenes tasks so necessary to a dramatic pro- duction, such as direction and publicity. .5 Doug Smith These were three of the trophies given to the winners in different c tegories of the Variety Show. 1 Orchesis proudly exclaim over the trophy they have iust won for Sportsmahship. This is the act with which the Sunbeams won an award as the best curtain-act. The tenth annual Variety Show, Dreamsville , pre- sented at the El Monte District Auditorium on Dec- ember ll, 1959, was a huge success. Over 150 RHS students participated in the show in one of the many club or vocal group acts. Dreamsville was sponsored by National Thespians under the direction of Mr. Ernest Mauk and members Connie Ensign and Doug Smith acted as masters of cere- mony. The evening's entertainment reached its climax with the presentation of the well-deserved trophies. Recipients of these awards were: Sports- manship, Orchesis, Theme, Spinsters, Originality, Sagaths, and Humor, Hi-Y.
