GMS' State Representatives to attend Girls' State and Boys' State are chosen during The Spring semester of 4,-Q.. each school year. The faculty and administration and the girls in the junior class select The Girls' gp State winner, while The iunior class boys and The American Legion Auxiliary select The Boys' State winner. BUD BARKER Girls' State Boys' State The Rotary award is given aT The end of each semester To a senior girl and a senior boy. They are chosen mainly be- cause they have shown service above self, scholastically and extra-curricularly. The Kiwanis award is given at the end of the school year to a senior boy and a senior girl. The recipients of the Kiwanis award are chosen wholly on their scholastic record. Bank of America awards are given To senior boys and girls. From The four nominees pictured here, Martha Casas and Darlene Rowe went on to another phase of competition. Winners of the Kiwanis Award for outstanding scholarship were Tom Moore and Darlene Rowe. The Judicial Board is a fairly new organization on cam- pus, this being only the second year of its existance. This Board is the iudicial branch of the school govern- ment, and its main purpose is to interpret the school constitution and to make decisions, as they are necess- ary, to properly enforce the constitution and by-laws. The Board also sees that eligibility requirements are maintained and enforced.
