BUD BARKER Girls' State Boys' State The Rotary award is given aT The end of each semester To a senior girl and a senior boy. They are chosen mainly be- cause they have shown service above self, scholastically and extra-curricularly. The Kiwanis award is given at the end of the school year to a senior boy and a senior girl. The recipients of the Kiwanis award are chosen wholly on their scholastic record. Bank of America awards are given To senior boys and girls. From The four nominees pictured here, Martha Casas and Darlene Rowe went on to another phase of competition. Winners of the Kiwanis Award for outstanding scholarship were Tom Moore and Darlene Rowe. These awards go to three seniors, one iunior, and one teacher. To receive such an honor the recipient must have shown outstanding interest in all school activities. The recipients are chosen by the past two semesters winners, if they are still attending Rosemead High. The names of people known to be giving outstand- ing service are submitted for considera- tion. Then by discussion and use of school records this list is narrowed down and finally the tive winners are chosen Beverly Thomas and announced at a special awards as- sembly held at the end of each semester.
