Miss Cosette Anderson Librarian 4' s . I if'- Miss Grace Seward Assistant Librarian Girls assisting in the library this year were, Row 1: Miss Anderson, T. Thompson, S. Henderson, G. Strinz, B. Harmon, l. Porche, C. Vasquez. Row 2: M. J. Neely, J. Nielsen, M. Timrott, C. Ensign, L. Siitam, E. Parks. Libvemg Sei eng, J The present library collection totals about l0,000 books. Our library subscribes to ap- proximately 70 magazines lor periodicalsl, to many career monographs and pamph- lets. Without the direction of Miss Cosette Anderson, her able assistant, Miss Grace Seward and the help of the students enrolled in Library Science the library could not function in a school this size. Student assistants learn how to use books and libraries more effectively and how to increase their appreciation of books and authors. Library routines are taught through practice work along with the regular study course which includes the study of the physical book, Dewey Decimal Classification, Card Catalogue, Readers' Guide, Dictionary, encyclopedias, and special reference books. The librarians strive to maintain an attractive and a quiet place to study and read, but it takes the whole-hearted cooperation of all the students to accomplish this. Suggestions for the improvement of library service are always welcome. Many facilities are available to RHS students in their library whether they seek books for enioyment or for research.
