The Panther Bees moved into the second place tie position after defeating the Glendora Tartans 55-53. Neve, voted the most valuable player, was followed by other top scorers: Bob Bowman, team cap- tain, Dave Mederios, Gerald Skupien, and Tom Schilz. John Miller was voted the m'ost improved player ofthe season. 4 Ending up with a 5.5 standing, the Bees led the four-way tie for second place, with the Sierra, San Gabriel, and Azusa squads. Sierra ....29 47' Roger Crissman Bill Denton Vic Hayes .,.-as John Koch Bill Hughes Dexter McDonald Coach Jim Ellis brought his Panther Cees to their second straight Sierra League victory with a 35-29 win over Arroyo. This gave the Cees their 19th straight league victory. They were assured of a tie as they defeated San Gabriel 20-19 on February 16. John Koch led the Panthers to their title as he scored 23 points in the Arroyo. game. This broke the record of 22 points set by Bill Quinn, in 1958. Other top scorers were Bill Denten and Dexter McDonald. Coach Jim Ellis stated that his entire team was in good balance, attributing to their consistent scoring. The Cees are looking forward to their third league championship next year. Proud winners of the league championship in the Cee division were, Row 1: Coach Ellis. Row 2: B. Denton, J. Bush, G.
